3 Fave Clips From ‘Full Frontal With Samantha Bee’ For the Post-Election Blues

‘Full Frontal With Samantha Bee’ has navigated this post-election malaise the only way it knows how, through laughter.

We’re all better for the show’s ability to harness the rage and then find all the right outlets to channel it toward.  So we picked out our three fave clips from Full Frontal With Samantha Bee.

Let’s be honest. For those of us who didn’t vote for our president-elect, each new cabinet appointment has become a painful chore to keep track of. Another enemy taking a stand for a struggle that frankly, just does not exist in place of some kind of justification for their hateful rhetoric.

Even though it’s been nearly a month since Nov 8th, it feels like longer. The crying and protesting may have stopped en mass but the enraged will not be cowed into acceptance of the blatant xenophobia being displayed at every turn by the conservative right.

Of course, plenty of comedians have taken the opportunity to lighten the mood but few have been as successful as Full Frontal With Samantha Bee.

Sam Bee is doing more than spinning an alarming headline into a funny little punchline. She’s taking PEOTUS and those he’s chosen to surround himself with to task. It’s a refreshing outlet to the rage, something that Full Frontal has chosen to embrace instead of shy away from.

With that in mind we’ve curated our favorite clips from the show that are guaranteed to at least bring a smile to your face.

1) “People Who Are Triggered Whenever A Person Of Color Says That Racism Still Exists Do Not Get To Mock Anyone Else For Being A Special Snowflake”

In the weeks since the election Sam has managed to weave the collective mourning of the two million plus (and counting) into her narrative. Not by discouraging it but instead pointing out the flaws in the logic that criticizing people for being angry and upset (while those same people continue to perpetuate false stories to further diminish people’s very legitimate feelings) is beyond hypocritical.

2) It’s Okay We Should Just Blame Jon Stewart

Sam Bee like numerous other TV comedians turned pundits is an alumna of The Daily Show. And Jon Stewart has made his fair share of appearances. In an election season that found the results more disconcerting than the campaign itself, many spent the days following November 8th trying to find a reason. The blame fell every which way but one thing is for sure, there was definitely an absence without Jon Stewart offering his own sense of shrewd criticism with a comedic twist. Luckily, it’s okay because he’s really busy anyway so let’s let him get back to coloring because Sam is more than qualified to truly take up his mantle.

There is more than one glass ceiling to shatter and Sam is doing her part. The Emmys may have snubbed her this year but she’s not giving up, even when she’s can’t keep a straight face.

Full Frontal With Samantha Bee airs Mondays at 10:30/9:30c. Be sure to tune in!
