‘Supergirl’ Season 2: What’s Next for the Girl of Steel?

‘Supergirl’ is on it’s winter hiatus after a huge start to Season 2. What can we expect for the rest of the second season?

She teamed up with her famous cousin, broke it off with James, made a connection with the boy from the wrong side of the galactic tracks AND journeyed to Earth 1 to take down some super troubling aliens for #DCWeek. And that was all just the first half of the show’s second season! So what’s next? Supergirl flies back to our screens on January 23, so let’s take a look at what’s ahead for Kara and her crew in the upcoming episode, “Supergirl Lives.”

The trailer above gives off a much darker vibe than we are used to seeing for Supergirl. They are facing new threats and, as TVLine reported, some old faces will be returning! Livewire, (the ex-CatCo employee that terrorized the town and who was locked up by Supergirl and The Flash) will be back! Also returning are Metallo, the creepy, dangerous Cadmus science experiment, and Roulette, the fight club promoter!

Kara’s plucky, happy times take a turn towards grim in the trailer as we see her standig under a red sun. For those of you who don’t know, the red sun is super harmful to Supergirl. She is clearly on a different planet and it isn’t clear exactly where, but one thing’s for sure, she is in some serious trouble.

Kara’s crew is also featured in the trailer. Alex is giving Winn some words of encouragement about going out into the field. The Guardian appears to still be throwing his hat into the crime fighting world and Mon-El is heard giving a warning about “looking for trouble.” There is also a huge spaceship and Kara is bleeding! Hmmmm. What does this mean for everyone? We will see when Supergirl returns on January 23, 2017!
