‘DWTS’ Pro Out: Tony Dovolani Won’t Return for Season 24

Sorry Dancing with the Stars fans, Season 24 will be without at least two of its most beloved veteran pros. Following reports that 6-time champ Derek Hough will sit the spring season out, Season 15 winner Tony Dovolani has revealed that he will not be returning to compete as a member of the Season 24 pro cast. Dovalni broke the news to his fans on social media Friday afternoon, confirming that he will not be back for the series’ spring cycle as he works to focus on his studio and teaching.
"I wanted my fans to hear it from me first. I will not be on Dancing With The Stars this season, season 24. While I will miss the show and interacting with our wonderful audiences, both at home and in the ballroom, I will continue to focus on growing my Dance With Me USA studios and teaching. I will also be traveling across the country performing and making personal appearances."
While Dovolani and Hough will be sitting out the spring cycle, ABC has confirmed that Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are set to compete as a part of the Season 24 pro roster – marking the first time the husband/wife duo will compete against one another since Season 19 (aka the season Chmerkovskiy walked away with his first and only Mirrorball).

With the official cast announcement scheduled for Wednesday, March 1 the Season 24 pro line-up should gradually begin to come to light as additional pros weigh in on their involvement in Season 24 – though there is a strong chance that the complete and official pro roster won’t be revealed until the celebrity cast is unveiled on Good Morning America on March 1.
