‘This Is Us’ star Chrissy Metz dropped by Jenny McCarthy’s radio show to talk Jack’s death, almost quitting Hollywood, and crying over Milo Ventimiglia.

More from This Is Us

For the millions of This Is Us fans tuning into the Pearson family each week, crying over Milo Ventimiglia isn’t a new phenomenon. As Jack, he has summoned the ugly tears with every monologue, every sweet moment with the Big Three, and especially every time he fought for his marriage. But Chrissy Metz found a whole new reason to cry about Milo Ventimiglia, and we’re right there with her.

While chatting with Jenny McCarthy on her SiriusXM radio show, Chrissy Metz spilled information that we have all been waiting for: Season 2 of This Is Us will reveal how Jack died and why Kate feels responsible for his passing. Answers are on the horizon, and so are even more emotions. Speaking of feels, when This Is Us received a remarkable 11 Emmy nominations earlier this month, Metz didn’t cry over her own. As she tells McCarthy, she shed a few tears for Milo Ventimiglia’s long overdue recognition. Surely, she wasn’t the only one celebrating Milo’s Emmy nomination with waterworks.

“I was actually in tears when Milo was announced,” Metz said on The Jenny McCarthy Show. “Sterling [K. Brown] was sort of something that I think everyone assumed was going to happen. But for Milo, he’s been in this for so long, and he’s just so wonderful.”

Chrissy Metz speaks the truth and nothing but the truth. The first-time Emmy nominee also dished to McCarthy about her plans for Emmy night, including whether she’s preparing an acceptance speech (spoiler: she probably should!) and which designer she will be rocking on the red carpet.

“Call me! Call me, designers,” Metz joked. “We’ve sort of thrown names around, and should I be lucky to wear XYZ depends. For me, like, of course I have designers who I love, but I’m like, ‘If it’s a beautiful dress and I feel great in it, that’s what I want to wear.'”

Metz continued her musing on her Emmy night plans with an important discussion on body image in the fashion industry. With her role as Kate Pearson on This Is Us, and by being her beautiful self, Chrissy Metz has been an important and surely inspirational voice for so many viewers. McCarthy didn’t just touch on the wonderful Emmys news and its side effects — Milo tears, fashion plans, and the like. Getting to the nitty gritty, McCarthy confirmed Jack’s cause of death will be revealed, while also uncovering two relatable anecdotes that prove why we love Chrissy Metz.

What’s the hilarious truth behind Metz taking advantage of her hit show’s perks? Oh, she once tacked on a fake British accent and pretended to be her assistant to land a table at a booked restaurant. And as a former talent scout, Metz almost decided to leave Hollywood behind to be a preschool teacher in Florida.

We’re beyond thankful she remained in Hollywood to name-drop herself, cry over Milo Ventimiglia, be a beacon of body positivity, and tell us all about it. Catch clips of Chrissy Metz’s appearance on The Jenny McCarthy Show in the links above, and keep the conversation going in the comments!

This Is Us returns for Season 2 on Tuesday, September 26 at 9/8c on NBC.
