We might be getting a new Lego Simpsons set in 2018 and we can’t be more excited

Back in 2014 Lego introduced us to the newest themed set involving The Simpsons and it was an instant hit.

The company released a Lego version of the Simpsons home retailing at $200 and consisting of 2,523 pieces. The set currently still sits on shelves but was pretty damn cool to build.

Along with the home, a series of minifigures including Bart, Lisa, Homer, Marge, Ned Flanders, Krusty the Clown and Apu among others hit stores. The packs retailed for $3.99 and included one of the 16 minifigures.

A year after that Lego released the Kwik-E-Mart set along with Apu, Snake and Cheif Wiggum as part of the set that also retailed for $200. A second series of minifigures were also released adding more characters to the collection.

But after that, it just stopped.

We haven’t had a new Simpsons-themed set since 2015 and fans are craving for one.

The hopes of a return did get a little better the other day. Our friends over at Bricks Are Awesome did some research and looked into what could be a new set coming in 2018.

The 60th anniversary of the Lego brick takes place in 2018 and we are already getting some awesome Star Wars sets. But a new Simpsons set to release in that year would be the icing on the cake.

The 30th season of the show is set to premiere in 2018, which could make for an interesting celebration.

With the Kwik-E-Mart and Simpsons home already released, the company could look to the Krusty Burger, the Android’s Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop and possibly Moe’s Tavern.

It could also mean the return of the minifigure series, which would mean even more new characters and different variations of previously produced figures.
