Only 10 acts remain in the running for the title of America’s Got Talent Season 12 champion, so who has what it takes to crack the Top 5 and which act has the potential to win it all?

After months of competition, only ten acts remain in the hunt for the $1 million grand prize and title of America’s Got Talent Season 12 winner. Yet again this season, the finale is dominated by musicians with five singers (Evie Clair, Chase Goehring, Angelica Hale, Kechi and Mandy Harvey)  in the Finals. Luckily, though, there are a few incredible variety acts still in the hunt to help break up the monogamy including Cirque du Soleil-esque Diavolo, animal act Sara and Hero, comedian Preacher Lawson, dance group Light Balance and ventriloquist Darci Lynne.

America truly has their work cut out this year as the Top 10 features several incredible acts. However, as is always the case, there are certain acts who enter the 2-part finale with greater odds of winning than others thanks to the fan bases they’ve developed throughout the various weeks of competition.

In keeping with tradition, the Season 12 finale should result in five of the acts being cut by the end of the first hour so that the Top 5 can be revealed. Pending any stellar performances from the following acts, it seems highly likely that the first five acts to be eliminated during Wednesday’s finale results show will be as follows:

  • Chase Goehring
  • Diavolo
  • Kechi
  • Angelica Hale
  • Evie Clair

That leaves Mandy, Sara & Hero, Light Balance, Darci Lynne and Preacher in the fight for the $1 million, but who has what it takes to walk away with the grand prize this season and which acts will fall short of glory?

5. Sara and Hero

Kicking off our Top 5 countdown are Sara and Hero whose popularity should be enough to help them crack the Top 5, but likely won’t be great enough to push them beyond a fifth place finish. As we saw during their Semi-Finals performance, the backdrop for their routines continue to change but the material and heart of the performances started to get a bit repetitive. Unless Sara and Hero can pull off some never-before-seen tricks, fifth place is about as far as the duo should go.

4. Mandy Harvey

Up next we have singer Mandy Harvey, who has won over America this season with her vocal abilities and her moving story of overcoming her deafness to keep her music dream alive. Mandy will be up against some stiff competition in the finale and, as inspiring as her story has been, it seems unlikely that she’ll manage to break into the Top 3.

3. Light Balance

This season, Light Balance has had its share of ups and downs complete with a Quarter-Finals performance in which their equipment failed leaving them to rely upon their dress rehearsal footage to help them make it through to the next round. There is absolutely no denying that the group is one of the best dance acts to compete in recent seasons, but we’ve seen acts like them before on the show and none have managed to take home the top prize – a trend which should continue this season.

2. Preacher Lawson

Had Preacher competed during any other season of the show, he would have been the shoo-in to take home the $1 million prize. This season he’s proven to be the greatest comedian to have ever taken to the America’s Got Talent stage and has the potential to become the first comedian to ever win it all. Thanks to his comedic chops, Preacher should easily secure the status of Season 12 runner-up finishing behind only…

1. Darci Lynne

From the moment she first auditioned in front of the judges, it was clear that Season 12 would be Darci Lynne’s to lose. In the rounds that followed, Darci has stepped up her game round after round with each performance stronger the last. She’s won the hearts of viewers and should take home the win come Wednesday night pending a major upset.

America’s Got Talent‘s finale performance show is set to air live Tuesday, September 19 at 8/7c with the 2-hour finale scheduled for the following night – also set to kick off at 8/7c.

Which of the ten remaining acts do you believe will make it into the Top 5 come finale night? Of the final ten acts, which do you think will walk away as the season’s winner and who will you be voting for this Tuesday night? Keep the conversation going in the comments section below!
