Do the dark winter months bum you out? Here’s where you can get that dope lamp Ilana uses on Broad City.

This week on Broad City, Abbi’s super hot mom (Peri Gilpin) came to tear shizz up in the NYC. But while Abbi (Abbi Jacobson) and her mother were having an awkward hang, Ilana (Ilana Glazer) was having a rough time.

For a few episodes now, Broad City has dropped lines indicating that Ilana is tapering off her mental health meds. Working to decrease medications is definitely cool with the support of a doctor, but Ilana starts having some unexpected side effects. Not wanting to go back on the pills, she turns to the happy SAD lamp.

Honestly, that light looks pretty amaze. I’m a therapist, and I’ve had clients use light boxes to help mitigate their seasonal depression, but I’ve never used one myself. After seeing Ilana, I’m like, gimmie all them watts, guuurl.

If you’ve watched the whole episode, you know that the happy SAD lamp doesn’t quiiiiite cure Ilana of her depression – nor should it be expected to do so. But a light box is certainly something that can help supplement a plan of action for those who suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) in the dark months, or even just as a boost for someone who can’t deal with the sun going down at the totally loco hour of 4pm every day. WHY, SUN GODDESS, WHY DO YOU FORSAKE US?!?!?!

Seeing as Daylight Savings Time is coming to an end soon, here’s where you can snag one of those happy SAD lamps Ilana uses on Broad City.

There are oodles of daylight lamps all over Amazon and the interwebs. While you could spend mega dough on a light – upwards of $300 – there are some that are both highly rated and reasonably priced. This lamp looks just like the one Ilana has, and it’s $49.99, which is less than a dank eighth of weed. Here’s another one that has over four hundy 5-star reviews, and it’s only $32.95. Score!

Note: The Mayo Clinic has posted guidelines on how to use the lamps here, and I highly suggest you check it out before you get started on your journey of light. Also, if you’re experiencing symptoms of depression or anxiety, it’s always cool to consult a professional. I promise that therapists are totally chill and that their only purpose is help you feel better. If you’re ready to look into finding a therapist in your area, may I recommend using the free service on Psychology Today to locate a profesh?

‘Broad City’ airs Wednesday nights at 10:30/9:30c on Comedy Central.
