With the holiday season upon us once more, Hallmark Channel is the go-to destination for original holiday movies that the whole family can enjoy! This year, Hallmark Channel’s annual “Countdown to Christmas” programming event welcomes the world premiere of 21(!) original romantic comedies featuring some of television‘s biggest stars and we here at Hidden Remote will be cracking out the cocoa and cookies every weekend to bring you the scoop on each of this year’s films!
Up next on our countdown is Enchanted Christmas, a romantic new holiday tale which unites husband and wife duo Carlos and Alexa PenaVega as two former high school sweethearts who find themselves reunited years later and find themselves connecting once again through their love of dance – which seems fitting since the PenaVega’s competed alongside one another on Dancing with the Stars.
When Laura Trudeau’s (Alexa PenaVega) boss tasks her with renovating a hotel in her Rosemont, Utah, Laura and her seven-year-old daughter (Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen) pack their bags and head out to the town Laura once called home. With only four weeks to get the renovations made before the Christmas Eve 75th Annual Enchanted Christmas Show, Laura has her hands full with work alone. However, she must also deal with her overly opinionated father (Rene Rivera), show she is staying with while and town, and her ex Ricardo Archuleta (Carlos PenaVega) who broke her heart years ago when he left her to go on a dance world tour.
After her daughter takes a liking to Ricardo and begs her mother to allow her to join his upcoming dance show. While she at first is against the idea, Laura eventually gives in and, when Ricardo’s partner is forces to leave town, finds herself filling in as her temporary replacement.
As the two begin to spend time rehearsing, the passion the former high school sweethearts once shared begins to reignite as does Laura’s love for dance. However, when Laura’s boyfriend Scott (Randy Wayne) makes a surprise trip to town and Laura presents Ricardo with a new proposition, the couple are faced to once again make a series of difficult decisions which possess the potential to once again tear them apart and send them in different directions.
