Blue Sky Studios’ Ferdinand is in theaters this Friday, December 15, and it’s packed with colorful and fun characters! Here’s your who’s who guide…

More from Movies

We screened Ferdinand ahead of its release and can’t recommend the animated movie enough! It’s LOL-fun for kids of all ages, while also delivering an important message to its audience.

The reason Ferdinand is genuinely a good time is its amazing cast who voice these colorful and larger than life characters. From Ferdinand to Cuatro, each character has been perfectly cast. Children will fall in love with the ranch animals, so be one step ahead and get to know the characters below ahead of the movie’s big premiere this weekend.

Based on the book The Story of Ferdinand, the movie follows Ferdinand, a giant bull with an even bigger heart. Ferdinand’s story is at the center of the movie. He does not like violence and delivers the message — just because one doesn’t want to fight, does not make them weak. What does Ferdinand prefer to spend his days doing? Smelling the roses! Who can blame the guy?

Casting John Cena, one of the most popular WWE wrestlers couldn’t be more perfect! Much like his character, Cena is also a giant teddy bear.

Valiente is not a fan of Ferdinand. While Ferdinand rather grow gardens, Valiente is the guy who will stomp on each and every flower on his path. He enjoys violence and wants to become the best bull Spain has ever seen.

Raf is one of the characters will be laughing at. Unlike the other animals at the ranch, Raf was created in a lab, but don’t expect him to act robotic for long!

Bones is more than just skin and bones, he has a soft spot. He won’t immediately reveal it though, Ferdinand will have to reach out to find it.

Angus is too funny! He believes he is blind, but it’s only his hair. But he does not allow his “blindness” to get on his way, he’s a tough bull.

The Horses

Hans (Flula Borg), Greta (Sally Phillips), and Klaus (Borid Kodjoe) are absolutely hilarious! Even though we only see them in two or three scenes, one of those is a dance-off against the bulls and it will have children (and adults) laughing! The trio is very snobby and believe they are better than any other animal at the ranch.

Uno, Dos, Cuatro

What happened to Tres? Don’t even ask! These three thieves do what they have to do to survive, but they’re not all bad! If you’re kind, they may just give you a hand!
