The X-Men and Fantastic Four are finally coming home to Marvel Studios! After months of speculation and rumors, the Disney/Fox merger has become a reality with Disney buying Fox and its various movie and film entities for $66 billion which has gifted Disney with the addition of an extensive new collection of cinematic and television entities including 20th Century Fox’s two Marvel franchises: The X-Men and Fantastic Four.
Under the deal, Disney will regain the rights to both Marvel franchises which were sold to 20th Century Fox long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe was founded. As a result, the X-Men and Fantastic Four heroes will be given the chance to join Marvel’s lucrative multi-billion dollar cinematic franchise and opens the door for the characters to one day team up with The Avengers – which is something many moviegoers believed would never happen.
