Jensen Ackles may be best known as Dean Winchester, but that’s not all.

Jensen Ackles has been acting since 1995. While he’s best known for his role of Dean Winchester in Supernatural, for a decade before the pilot he was known by a number of character names. Jason Teague will be the one that stands out the most, as many remember that he was in Smallville the year before Supernatural, but do you remember all the rest?

There are just so many roles that will be overlooked or forgotten. Some you won’t know because while he filmed the role, the show never made it to air.  Here are seven movies and shows you forgot Jensen was in.

More from Supernatural

Sweet Valley High

Brittany and Cynthia Daniel played twins Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield in Sweet Valley High. Jensen’s second TV series was an episode in this show. He played Brad in the episode “All Along the Water Tower.” Since it’s just one episode, it’s understandable why many forget about him. Plus this was way back in 1996.

Brad dates Jessica for the episode. However, things are called off when it turns out he’s a cousin of Enid.

Mr. Rhodes

Off the back of Sweet Valley High, Jensen took on the role of Malcolm for eight episodes in Mr. Rhodes. The show only lasted for one season and was about a new hip writer called Tom Rhodes. He ends up teaching at a prep school, because despite the critics loving his novel, the public don’t think the same way.

The show performed so poorly that the last two episodes didn’t air. It’s an NBC show, so that’s really not surprising considering the way the network still treats some of its shows!

Dark Angel

How many of you watched Dark Angel? It starred Jessica Alba and Michael Weatherly in the first season, with Jensen appearing in just one episode. He was such a popular character that the writers found a way to bring him back for the second season. Despite fans loving him, the show didn’t perform that well in the ratings and it was cancelled after its second season.

Jensen’s character Alec wasn’t the nicest of characters. There was also a will they/won’t they situation between Jensen and Jessica’s characters throughout.

Still Life

This is one of those shows that you’ll likely not realize because it never aired. Jensen filmed six episodes of the season in 2003, only for the episodes never to make it to TV. He played the role of Max Morgan and he was supposed to be one of the main characters of the show.

There’s very little about this one now. However, deciding not to move on with the show was a good thing, since it meant Smallville and then Supernatural.

Devour

When it comes to movies, the one you’re likely to forget is Devour. It’s an odd movie and not the most invigorating, but many will now likely watch it just for the sake of Jensen. He does play lead character Jake Grey, who plays a deadly game of “The Pathway” with his friends. When the game spirals out of control, it has some serious consequences.

If you want one reason to watch this movie, it’s for Jensen to be onscreen with his own father. Allen Ackles plays Paul Kilton, Jake’s father.

Ten Inch Hero

One of the most recent movies that many forget Jensen was in is Ten Inch Hero. Once you watch the movie, you can definitely not get his character out of your head. He plays Priestly, the cook at the sandwich shop who has a love of slogan T-shirts, kilts, and multi-colored hair.

This is also a movie for Danneel Ackles fans. She plays Platicia, one of the employees at the sandwich shop. The two characters have the will they/won’t they vibe, as the two actors started dating behind the scenes.

The Plight of Clownana

Finally, it’s a short movie that you’ve more than likely completely forgotten about or not even heard of. The Plight of Clownana is about a Clownana called Ishmael. When the porn shop across the road gets its own mascot, Ishmael wonders the point of life.

Jensen plays Jensen. Many other actors play characters of their own name, including Angel’s Christian Kane. On top of this, Jensen was the executive producer; the first and last time he’s taken that role in a show or movie.
