As we kick off 2018, we’re counting down the things we hope come to fruition in 2018 with our TV wish list! What are we holding out for? Take a look!

With the new year officially upon us, we have a lot of high hopes for what the year ahead will bring with it – particularly when it comes to the television shows we know and love. The beginning of the year is always a good time to look ahead to the future which inspired us to create a TV wish list comprised of 30 items we’d love to see happen this year on some of our favorite shows!

Watch your favorite shows on fuboTVWatch over 67 live sports and entertainment channels with a 7-day FREE trial!

From engagements and pregnancy twists to reunions and returns, the 30 items on our 2018 TV wish list are just an inkling of what we hope the year holds in store for all of our favorite characters and shows as the year progresses.

More from Hidden Remote

1. Agents of Shield

After seeing Hunter back in action helping Fitz, we’re going to need some more of our favorite former SHIELD agent. When he next returns, though, can we please get more than just a Bobbi reference and instead get a cameo from his better half?

2. Arrow

This year, it became clear that Thea really has no use to the show’s narrative so why not give the character a proper sendoff and allow her to ride off into the sunset with Roy after Colton Haynes’ latest guest arc comes and goes.

3. Blue Bloods

Is it really too much to ask for a flashback episode dedicated to Linda’s death which could show us the moments leading up to her death and the immediate fallout of the loss? Amy Carlson and her fans deserve to actually be able to say goodbye to Linda and an episode decided to the day she died could help lessen the blow of losing one of the show’s most beloved characters.

4. Bull

We know that CBS loves reuniting former colleagues on new series, so can someone please find a way to get Cote de Pablo to guest star on Bull as either an adversary for Jason Bull to go up against or as a possible love interest?

5. Chicago Fire

Hey Dick Wolf, the next time you set up a major cliffhanger in which the lives of nearly every key player hangs in the balance can you at least consider delivering a decent payoff? We’re not saying someone has to die, but can the consequences of their injuries/the emotional toll the near-death experience had on the character(s) at least be felt?

6. Chicago P.D.

While we were so glad to see the likes of Atwater and Burgess ascend to the ranks of the Intelligence Unit, would it be too much to ask for a revisiting of the beat cops angle which helped set the show aside from the plethora of procedurals out there?

7. Chicago Med

Although the structure of the show works, we’d love to see Chicago Med shake things up a bit by incorporating patient arcs that last more than the 45 minute time constraints of each episode.

8. Dancing with the Stars

Knowing that an all-athlete season is coming in the spring, here’s hoping that the producers make sure to diversify the season’s celebrity roster rather than tapping an abundance of Olympic stars. Bonus: Can we please finally give Gleb and Keo the boot so that the likes of Sasha and Alan can remain on board as pros and not be relegated to the troupe?

9. Designated Survivor

Following the death of his wife, let’s hope that the show doesn’t immediately thrust President Kirkman into a new relationship and instead allows us to see a man struggling to keep the nation together while juggling life as a single father.

10. Elementary

With Natalie Dormer’s time on Game of Thrones behind her, here’s hoping the powers that be can find a way to bring Moriarty back in the new year. Her time on the show was far to short and we’d love to see the Sherlock/Moriarty dynamic explored more this year.

11. The Flash

Given those teases in the Crisis on Earth-X crossover, here’s hoping that a WestAllen baby will soon be on board!

12. Fuller House

Fuller House loves a good plot twist, so what better way to throw Stephanie and Jimmy a fun curveball than by making Kimmy pregnant with twins. I mean we know that twins run in the family and the house could use a few more adorable little ones.

13. Gotham

Should Gotham manage to secure a fifth season, here’s hoping that the writers might finally consider jumping forward in time to mature its characters including Bruce Wayne. Heck, we’ve even rounded up a list of 10 actors who would be perfect for the role should we finally get to see a Batman-in-training who’s old enough to face off against the city’s various villains.

14. Grey’s Anatomy

With Jo’s showdown with Paul looming on the horizon, we want nothing more than to see her finally be able to close that chapter of her story in order to fully embrace her life with Alex to give us a Jolex wedding and – if we’re lucky – a Jolex baby!

15. Hawaii Five-0

It seems inevitable, but the one thing we want most in the new year is for Adam to find a way to officially join the Five-0 team be it as a consultant or full-fledge member of the team.

16. How to Get Away With Murder

If there is one thing that could make How to Get Away With Murder must-see TV again, it would be the trial of the Keating 4. It’s high time their past actions catch up with them and watching Asher, Michaela, Laurel and Connor stand trial for all of their crimes could definitely create some much-needed buzz. We’re sure the writers could deliver an incredible trial arc and it would allow them to finally deal with the consequences of their actions in order to move forward without constantly looking back.

17. iZombie

Can we please finally see Liv and Major come together as a couple? I mean they’ve been through so much over the years and have more than earned a bit of happiness together as a couple.

18. Legends of Tomorrow

With Martin and Jax gone, the Waverider could definitely use some new recruits. Rather than turning to new heroes, why not rely upon some of the Arrowverse’s most underutilized characters such as The Flash‘s Wally West, Arrow‘s Thea Queen or Supergirl‘s Superman?

19. Lucifer

Enough with the will they or won’t they! Finally allow Lucifer and Chloe to take the plunge this year. We’re dying to see the duo handle life as a couple and to explore the mythology of what their coupling could mean to one another’s future.

20. Man with a Plan

As mentioned above, CBS loves to reunite former co-stars and what better way to get viewers talking than by having one of Matt LeBlanc’s Friends co-stars pop up for a guest appearance or guest arc on his new sitcom?

21. Mom

Isn’t it about time that Christy receive a legitimate chance at love? As 2018 progresses, here’s hoping that Christy is able to finally get a shot at starting a healthy relationship of her own.

22. NCIS

With the departure of Abby looming, there’s nothing we want more this year than for the show to deliver a well-written sendoff to our favorite forensic scientist and for the show to find someone worthy of taking over her role on the team.

23. Netflix

Dear Netflix, we understand that The Defenders was touted as an event series, but can you please order a second season already! While you’re at it, how about welcoming She-Hulk to your ranks with a series dedicated to the underrated Marvel hero!

24. Once Upon a Time

While Season 7 of Once Upon a Time has featured sendoffs and cameos from several of the show’s original cast, we’ve yet to see Snow or Charming pop up. There’s nothing we want more than to see their reaction to meeting grown-up Henry or to see how parenthood is going with Neal. Bonus: While ratings might not be the best, may the powers that be generous and pick the show up for an eighth season!

25. Quantico

After an overly confusing second season, all we really want from the third season of Quantico is for the show to find the same magic it did back in Season 1 with an overarching storyline that leaves viewers intrigued but not completely lost.

26. Riverdale

Although Sabrina will now call Netflix home rather than The CW, here’s hoping that the Riverdale team will be able to find a way to incorporate some sort of crossover – perhaps to introduce the character before she makes her Netflix debut.

27. Supergirl

While we understand that curveballs are used to help characters grow and provide shows with new stories to tell, can someone please find a way to undo the Mon-El marriage twist so that Kara and Mon-El can finally be together again!!! #KaramelAllTheWay

28. Supernatural

After its share of failed spinoff attempts, here’s to the success of Wayward Sisters, a series which has the potential to keep the Supernatural franchise going long after the original series comes to a close.

29. This Is Us

While it’s been fun trying to guess the cause of Jack’s demise, we’re dying to finally discover what claimed the life of the Pearson family patriarch.

30. Young & Hungry

After five seasons of “Will they or won’t they” centric storylines, isn’t it time for Gabi and Josh to finally become exclusive and – dare we say it – possibly even begin thinking about marriage?!
