The first official Mute trailer for the upcoming Netflix original movie has dropped and it gives you everything you need but also nothing at all.

More from Netflix

Netflix is definitely not holding back when it comes to their original projects anymore. Bright was the shining light in 2017, making everyone sit up and take notice of what the streaming giants can do and 2018 is continuing with that trend.

With February just around the corner, a whole new line up of Netflix originals are on the way. Most of the talk around this subject has been about the upcoming Netflix original Altered Carbon, a ten-episode series based on the novel by Richard K. Morgan. The series is to be released on Netflix at the start of the month.

Because of this, several upcoming originals have slipped under the radar. Other upcoming originals such as Everything Sucks! and The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale have gone relatively unnoticed but none so much as Mute. The original movie is set for release at the end of February and has little to no media attention, so far.

That will no doubt change from today however as the first official trailer for the movie dropped for all to see and without trying to sound overdramatic it is a perfect example of a perfect trailer. As the two-minute-long clip reveals everything you need to know but also nothing at all.

Official Mute trailer

The official Mute trailer has not fallen into the common trap that movie trailers have recently been doing. That is, revealing so much that it makes you wonder whether it is worth watching or not. In fact, it has gone so far the other way you barely get any revealing information at all.

Instead, you get a gripping, intriguing and thought-provoking trailer that makes you want to know more. It makes you want to watch the actual movie and get all the answers to the questions you have after watching the trailer. It does what a trailer is supposed to do.
