The 13th episode of the 13th season is finally here and here are the takeaways from the Supernatural trailer and synopsis.

More from Supernatural

It’s finally happening! Danneel Ackles is joining the cast of Supernatural in a recurring guest star role. We’re still not 100% sure on how long she’ll be in the season, but her first episode comes up next week. Supernatural Season 13, Episode 13 will be her debut and I couldn’t be more excited. This is a woman I’ve loved since her days on One Tree Hill as Rachel Gatina Scott.

But that’s just one thing you can get from the promo and synopsis. To be honest, most fans already knew Danneel was joining the cast for this episode. After “Various and Sundry Villains,” all eyes are on a particular duo: Castiel and Lucifer. Cass finally learned from his mistakes, but it looks like his actions haven’t reached the goal he had in mind.

Without further adieux, it’s time to look at the top takeaways from the Supernatural 13×13 promo and synopsis. The video and synopsis are also included below, so you can get your own takeaways!

#1. Danneel and Jensen will have scenes together

From the look of the trailer, the husband and wife team will get at least one scene together. “Devil’s Bargain” states that Danneel is playing Sister Jo, a faith healer. Lucifer goes to see her for help with his grace and powers, but it looks like she has no intention on helping. Of course, that’s not great news for Sister Jo, as Lucifer holds grudges for millennia.

Sister Jo will turn to the Winchesters for help. Will Dean and Sam agree to help or will they question her morality as a faith healer? The last time they came across one, it turned out the pastor’s wife was controlling a reaper. They may be a little suspicious about this one.

#2. Lucifer is definitely not dead

The last episode finished with Castiel stabbing Lucifer in the gut with an angel blade. Fans questioned whether Lucifer would die, but the synopsis and trailer make it clear that hasn’t happened. The great news is Castiel already knows that Lucifer hasn’t been killed. He also gets the chance to call the Winchesters and tell them that Lucifer is out of the Apocalypse World.

This may finally be the episode that the Winchesters and Cass reunite again. Hopefully, Castiel has learned that going off on his own just isn’t a good idea.

#3. The Winchesters learn about Apocalypse Michael

Castiel is going to give the Winchesters all the information they need about the Apocalypse World. Lucifer was very chatty in the cells and that’s not surprising considering they were there for five episodes, which is a couple of months in Supernatural World.

There is no holding back on the information. The Winchesters don’t just learn about Apocalypse Michael, but that there’s an angel tablet there. Now all that remains to be seen is whether Dean and Sam will tell Castiel about Jack.

#4. Lucifer is ready to kill

During the trailer, Lucifer’s eyes glow red. He is ready to collect his powers and become the archangel he once was. While rage is a powerful motivator, he knows that the rage won’t last. He will need to find a way to manage his powers however he feels. This is why he will pay a visit to Sister Jo.

It looks like he’s ready to threaten her. Will he show Sister Jo his real face? It would be interesting to see Danneel’s character bond with Sam Winchester over that.

#5. Asmodeus is back

It’s been weeks since we’ve seen him, but the Evil Colonel Sanders King of Hell is on his way back to the screens. During “Various and Sundry Villains,” one of the demons hinted that Asmodeus was away taking care of some business. We all know he’s been looking for Jack, calling the Winchesters daily as Castiel to find out where Jack is.

Will this be the week he learns the truth about the Apocalypse World and Jack’s travels there? Will Asmodeus find a way to get through? It’s not 100% clear whether the Apocalypse World is going to appear in this episode. With so much going on, that might wait until the next episode.

Here’s the synopsis and the trailer to help make up your own mind about the upcoming episode.

"Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Castiel (Misha Collins) search for Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) who, meanwhile, strikes an unlikely deal with a local faith healer named Sister Jo (guest star Danneel Ackles). Asmodeus (guest star Jeffrey Vincent Parise) inches closer to finding Jack (Alexander Calvert)."
