Arie Luyendyk Jr. bonded with Lauren Burnham during their one-on-one date on The Bachelor Season 22 last week. So will they get engaged?

While Burnham did not stand out much during the early episodes of Bachelor Season 22, she is quickly becoming a contender. After receiving the group date rose in Week 5, she finally got her first one-on-one in France. Things started out awkward between them, but she eventually opened up enough to receive another rose.

Spoiler alert!

And spoilers indicate that Luyendyk will want to get to know Burnham even more during Monday ’s episode of Bachelor Season 22. The episode synopsis states that Burnham and Luyendyk will go on another one-on-one date in the Italian town of Lucca:

"“Lauren B. hasn’t been able to conquer her nerves or allow herself to be total vulnerable, but that will need to change if she is to get a rose and a hometown date. Arie and Lauren B. ride bikes, shop and indulge in gelato in Lucca; but at dinner, the usually play-it-safe bachelorette shares her true feelings for the Bachelor, but his reaction surprises her. Did she share too much too soon?”"

According to Reality Steve, Burnham will get a rose on Week 7 of The Bachelor Season 22, and she will advance to the hometown dates. In fact, Steve reports that Burnham makes it all the way to the finale, where Luyendyk will get engaged to Becca Kufrin.

However, Reality Steve also reports that Luyendyk changed his mind shortly after filming the finale. The race-car driver then broke things off with Kufrin and is currently dating Burnham.

As of now, Luyendyk and Burnham are still together, though they are not yet engaged. But even if Luyendyk does propose to Burnham, we doubt their relationship will last.

That is because there are reasons to doubt whether Luyendyk really came on Bachelor Season 22 to find love. There has already been speculation that he is a womanizer who does not want to settle down. One of his exes, Sydney Stempfley, tweeted before he was announced as the Bachelor that he would have trouble picking one woman.

And a few weeks ago,  another of Luyendyk’s exes, Giustina Lee, told In Touch that she hooked up with Luyendyk shortly before became the Bachelor. She even alleged that he contacted her after he returned from filming. That does not sound like the behavior of a man who is ready to get married.

Of course, these exes are biased against Luyendyk. But Reality Steve also doubts that Luyendyk came on Bachelor Season 22 to find a wife:

"“Arie is really no different than previous leads, but much more like Nick [Viall] in that he was never doing this show to find a wife. He’s here to build his brand back up, he lost sponsors racing because he never won, and now this is a way to put himself back on the map.”"

Jason Mesnick famously dumped his initial winner, Melissa Rycroft, for his runner-up, Molly Malaney, after his Bachelor season. The Mesnicks have since become of the most successful Bachelor couples to date. But we cannot picture the same outcome for Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham.
