You’ve likely already heard details about 3 of these new Shadowhunters characters, but it’s this mysterious fourth character who’s caught our interest.

With less than five weeks to go before the Shadowhunters Season 3 premiere, the dreaded “hellatus” is almost at its end! The last few weeks before a new episode can feel like the longest, but they’re also filled with new trailers, photos and teasers — including the introduction of new characters.

Shadowhunters fans have already learned about a new demon, warlock and werewolf coming to screens in Season 3A, but it might be a new mundane character who steals the spotlight in Episode 1, “On Infernal Ground.”

4 characters we’re exited to see in Shadowhunters season 3:

Lilith:

We technically caught a glimpse of Lilith in the Season 2 finale, but this mother of all demons is taking the stage in a big way this season. Determined to bring her son back to life, Lilith will form the Church of Talto in New York and recruit disciples to help her. She’s unlike any other villain we’ve seen on the series, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the Shadowhunters crew comes to learn of her already-in-motion plan. And for fans who’ve already read City of Fallen Angels, the show offers a new twist in how Lilith will get the attention of both the mundane and Shadow Worlds.

Lorenzo Rey:

Lorenzo Rey, a high warlock in New York City, is played by long-time Shadowhunters fan and Hamilton Musical alum Javier Munoz. We won’t meet this new character in the Season 3 premiere, but we do hear about Lorenzo when Magnus describes him to Alec, and we’re hoping to meet him in Episode 2! We already knew Magnus would be Lorenzo’s rival, but after learning more details about their relationship in “On Infernal Ground,” we’re confident this competitive warlock storyline will be a highlight of the season.

Jordan Kyle:

More from Teen Dramas

A highly-anticipated character from The Mortal Instruments series, Jordan Kyle will make his debut a few episodes into Season 3. From what we’ve gathered so far, we’ll first meet Jordan via Simon, and the two will hit it off as friends (maybe roomies?). We also know however, that Jordan’s arrival will cause “repercussions that affect more than just Simon.” The cast has confirmed that Jordan will be revealed as a werewolf sometime this season, but we’re curious to see how the series will adapt this complicated character from the books.

Charlie Cooper:

You’ve likely not yet heard of this new character, but we meet the handsome and charismatic Dr. Charlie Cooper (Brooks Darnell) in the season 3 premiere. A colleague of Catarina’s at the local mundane hospital, Charlie is a physician with a charming personality and a knack for creative problem solving. He even teaches one of our favorite Shadowhunters a new trick or two…

Whereas Season 2 focused heavily on Shadowhunter-Downworlder relations, Season 3 of the fantasy series looks to examine — and potentially warp — the divide between the Shadow World and mundanes. A major cliffhanger in the Season 2 finale was Ollie’s awareness of werewolves, but with another recurring mundane character like Charlie now in the mix, we will likely see more of a crossover between the two layers of New York.
