Now that General Hospital has lost a good cop, there is a huge hole that needs to be filled. The ABC soap may have just found someone who fits the bill. Nathan West is gone leaving Dante without a partner. This may be where Josh Swickard comes in. The actor has been cast as Chase who will be joining the PCPD, according to She Knows Soaps.

Who is this guy?

It looks like GH fans are swooning over this guy already. You have to admit, Josh Swickard is one good looking man. Not much is known about him just yet. He doesn’t have a huge acting resume, but General Hospital must have seen what a good fit he will be for the soap. It appears that his acting experience stems from only two Disney Channel shows, Liv & Maddie and K.C. Undercover. This new role will be a brand new experience for him.

Fitting in

If he has indeed been cast as Dante’s new partner, it will certainly take some getting used to. Dante is grieving his loss as he and Nathan were also best friends outside of their jobs. Now that someone may eventually be sitting at Nathan’s desk, there could be a conflict going on in the beginning.

Good cop or bad cop?

Nathan West was definitely a good cop. No one can replace him at all, and it is probably not what General Hospital intends to do. So, this begs the question whether this new guy will come on the scene as a young hot-headed cop or if he will be as innocent and good as Nathan was.

There is also the question whether he will eventually be related to someone in Port Charles. Because after all, it is very rare in soaps when someone comes on board with absolutely no ties to anyone at all in town.
