Roseanne returns to ABC. What is in store for us? Let’s check in on Roseanne Conner…

It’s not every day you get to see something you cherished growing up come back to you after it’s gone. To have Roseanne return to network television is not only a blessing, but to have the original cast is more exciting than I could have hoped.

Since the debut return is on March 27, I decided to timeline the original characters from where they first started to where it will continue to go. Bringing in those that we fondly remember. Roseanne, Dan, D.J., Becky, Darlene, and Jackie. I will also touch on those that drove the story forward: David, Crystal, and Beverly (Roseanne’s mom).

In one last tribute, I will bring in the minor characters that will also be coming back: Anne-Marie, Chucky, Nancy, and the second Becky, who will now be the surrogate to the original. Then the newcomers, Mary (DJ’s daughter), Mark (Darlene and David’s son), and Harris (Darlene and David’s daughter).

First Up Roseanne…

The character of Roseanne is from the comedian’s real-life travels. Her character persona is not much different from herself with a bossy, loud, dominant attitude toward life. She has a need to be in control of everyone’s lives. This includes her husband, children, friends, and even co-workers. Let’s call this her outer shell defense to protect those around her.

She also has a soft underbelly. A loving mother who will always stand up for her children and work to keep them from ever feeling neglected. Roseanne always makes time for her kids, husband, and sister in any way she can.

More from ABC

Always understanding the power of money, she takes on several jobs. We first see her at Wellman Plastics as an assembly line worker. However, a conflict arrives when her new over demanding egotistical boss Mr. Faber decides to set goals too high and run the employees through difficult paces. Eventually, Roseanne leads a walkout with her friends in tow.

This leads to several other jobs. A telemarketer, bartender, hair saloonkeeper, but Roseanne finds a home as a mall waitress at Rodbell’s department store. This way she can keep tabs on her kids and husband who visit frequently. From there, she takes on her own business and partners with Jackie, Nancy, and her mother (Beverly), who later sells her portion to her ex-boss from Rodbell’s (Leon).

In the last season, we learn that she and Jackie are lottery winners ($108,000,000). They completely live as carefree as they possibly can, but they never move from their home in Lanford. Roseanne just remodels it all. In the last episode, we find that it is just a fictional moment in her head to deal with the realities of losing Dan to a heart attack.

Present day, Roseanne is now a Trump supporter which reflects who she is in real life as well. Roseanne has said this about it: “I’ve always attempted to portray a realistic portrait of the American people and of working-class people. And in fact, it was working-class people who elected Trump.”  This is probably going to be a heated debate as pictures of Jackie have been seen wearing the “Pussyhat” and is a Hillary Clinton supporter. We also know she and Dan will resume being husband and wife.

Roseanne Season 10, episode 1 premieres March 27 on ABC.
