#8 Beth (Emily Kinney)

Did we think Beth would die? Yes. Did we think she would die this soon? Sorta. We had plenty of clues and evidence — filming schedules, Emily Kinney wasn’t spotted on set lately, the singer/actress began to focus more on her music career, spoilers from various sites. There were plenty of signs, too, but Beth had a massive fan following that we were all in denial.

Just as T-Dog did, Beth went out like a champ! When we were introduced to Beth, she was a fragile little girl, too innocent and not meant for the walker wold. Beth remained this way for a long time, depending on other members of the group to survive. Eventually, however, after dealing with so much loss, Beth toughened up. Her new attitude didn’t last long, though, thanks to Dawn…

#7 Merle (Michael Rooker)

It almost seems as if characters are alive longer if they are villains. Merle was a villain from the start, and even though Rick and the others didn’t mean to leave Merle behind on top of the roof, he had it coming. Not that it stopped Merle, he went on to join The Governor and got an arm-upgrade. Merle did have a soft spot for his brother, though he was never really trusted among Team Rick. But as soon as Merle tried to do the right thing, he is killed off. And as if his death scene wasn’t sad enough, the moment where Daryl find Merle’s body is sure to get you.
