New trailer for Adam Sandler’s upcoming Netflix movie The Week Of
By Matt Conway
Adam Sandler’s fourth film with Netflix The Week Of may actually end up being somewhat decent based on this latest trailer.

While Netflix has struggled to jumpstart their original movie library, I would say they have found a great collaborator in Adam Sandler. While his three comedic outings have been less than stellar, they have been among Netflix’s most popular original content. Considering just how uncinematic his movies have become, the two have made for a perfect marriage.
That partnership continues with Sandler’s latest comedy The Week Of. Check out the latest trailer for the film, as well as an official plot synopsis.
“Two fathers with opposing personalities come together to celebrate the wedding of their children. They are forced to spend the longest week of their lives together, and the big day cannot come soon enough.”
I am shocked to admit this, but I think this actually looks decent. I think what helps most is the fact that Sandler is co-staring with Chris Rock, who can’t help but be funny even with the worst script. The two have never really had their own movie together, so the concept alone is fairly promising. There were a few gags in the trailer that made me laugh, which is more than I can for Sandler’s previous efforts.
I do have to say that this trailer in general is poorly put together. The edits between footage are extremely clunky, and in general it doesn’t really give audiences an expectations regarding story details. That is most likely because there is little story to offer, as Sandler’s last few scripts have been poor at best. My hope with this latest project is that Sandler and company focus on telling a simple story full of big and creative laughs.
