Ketch has a chance to prove his alliance with the Winchesters on Supernatural Season 13 tomorrow, but will he sway back to the dark side?

It’s difficult to know whether to trust Ketch or not on Supernatural Season 13. He seems to want to make amends and the British Men of Letters definitely wanted to get rid of Lucifer beforehand, but he’s also extremely self-serving and conniving. If he sees a situation that will work out for him, he’s going to opt for that side and it could mean trouble for the Winchesters.

Yet, he told the Winchesters he was working with Asmodeus. If he really wanted to make trouble for the brothers, he wouldn’t have bothered. And when he did get into Hell, he didn’t tell Asmodeus that he’d struck a deal with the Winchesters to play double agent. He’s left Asmodeus believing that he’s on the Prince of Hell’s side.

So, does this mean Ketch will tell the Winchesters the truth about everything Asmodeus has been up to? This will be the test for the viewers to see which side the former British Man of Letters is really on. If he doesn’t tell Sam and Dean the whole truth (archangel blade plus archangel) then Ketch is playing both sides. Should he tell Sam and Dean all, then there is a strong chance that he wants good to triumph over evil (for now).

Of course, there is a very good reason Ketch can’t tell the Winchesters the whole truth right now. Asmodeus has only told Ketch; at least, that’s what we know. So if the Winchesters start putting a plan together to save Gabriel, Asmodeus would know Ketch was double-crossing him and would kill him. Keeping it a secret in the short term would help to ensure his survival in the future. And to be honest, we’d all think of our own survival, right?

The only way Sam and Dean could realistically find out about Gabriel is through Ketch. Eventually he will have to tell them the truth. Whether it’s right away or not will be interesting. Right now, the Winchesters do arguably have a lot more to deal with than getting Gabriel free. They need to save Jack and Mary, stop Apocalypse Michael coming through a rift, prevent Asmodeus learning everything through Donatello (although, they don’t know that yet) and stop Lucifer. Saving an archangel they thought was dead and really made trouble for them every step he could isn’t going to be at the top of their list.

Ketch may realize that and decide to keep quiet until one or two situations are solved. Or until he knows the only way to solve a situation is to get that archangel out.
