It’s always hard to choose best moments and best lines from exciting, plot-pushing storylines. Good Intentions is no different, but here’s an attempt.

Supernatural Season 13, Episode 14 saw the return of the Apocalypse World. That didn’t just bring back Michael, but we got to see the AU version of Bobby in more detail, see Zachariah’s vessel for this world (why was it different to the one in our own world; just curious) and see Jack and Mary bond. Meanwhile, the Winchesters had to deal with Donatello, who was gradually being corrupted by the demon tablet.

The whole episode pushed the plot forward. It raised questions for the future and now it’s difficult to choose the best lines. But here’s an attempt with the nine best from “Good Intentions.”

If bacon’s what kills me, then I win.

There’s no way this could be left off, is there? There are already memes and t-shirts with this saying! It’s such a typical Dean line that it’s perfect. And it’s not the first time Supernatural Season 13 has brought up bacon. Remember his hangover cure? Yes, this will probably go down as one of the best quotes from the whole of the season.

I wanted you to see the natural world before it was spoiled. Humans have good intentions, but they never truly appreciated the gift they were given. Left to their own devices, humans would destroy everything.

This is a very important line from the Apocalypse World. As Zachariah tries to make Jack use his powers, he shows all the destruction and damage that has happened in the name of various religions, rights, beliefs and more. Sure, humans have certainly destroyed the world, but Jack also knows the good that humans have done too.

The whole scene was perfect. Jack could see through the mind games and manipulation. It, once again, proved to us that Jack wants to be good and it’s going to take more than angelic mind games to make him use his powers for evil. But if Jack did switch because of the mind games, it would have been Zachariah we’d have been angry at and not Jack!

We get mom, we get Jack, boom, family reunion.

Dean said the thing that we all needed to hear. Jack was included in the talk of family reunions. Episode 9 had already confirmed that he thought of Jack as part of the family, and this line echoed it. While he’s on a mission to get Mom back, he’s also on a mission to find this nephilim, who is arguably becoming like a son to him, back. Plus, later even Mary includes him as a friend of the family; that’s as good as family for the Winchesters.

You should be 6 months old.

Ah, poor Mary. The last she saw of Jack was he was being born. She had no idea what had actually happened and that Jack made himself a teenager. Stating what she thought she may eventually go back to, she instead found a boy who made a simple and funny comment to the line; “I am.”

They are equally pretty.

This is another brilliant scene. Gog wants to know who his brother Magog wants to kill, and Magog wants to kill the pretty one. We’re in complete agreement that we couldn’t tell who he actually wanted to kill. They really are both pretty.

I thought you were a damn ghost. But it turns out you’re just from a whole other world, which is weirder when you think about it.

Apocalypse Bobby had me howling with this line. Being a ghost or a spirit is nothing for him. Yes, being from another world is completely, well, out of this world! It’s “dingo ate my baby crazy” to take a line from a Supernatural Season 3 episode. Even the Winchesters took their time getting their heads around this other world, and they’ve seen Hell, Heaven and Purgatory!

Mary Campbell was a complicated woman. Brave, but sad. Full of regret.

There was a hint of sadness in Apocalypse Bobby’s voice and on his face when he spoke about his version of Mary. It was almost a hint of forbidden love or even allowed love. Did AU Bobby and Mary have a thing going on? Did they connect over the loss of loved ones, since I’m presuming AU Bobby got into hunting for the same reasons as our Bobby?

Sam and Dean wouldn’t run.

In the final stages, when Jack had the chance to hide and escape, he chose to return. He wanted to save Mary, save Apocalypse Bobby (despite Bobby kicking him out) and save the innocent people in the camp. This was the moment we knew Sam and Dean had taught him right; been the best father-figures they could be. He’s definitely part of the family.

I did what a soldier would do.

It’s hard to know which side to be on with handling Donatello. Everyone had excellent arguments for and against what Castiel had done. However, Castiel had a simple statement that reminds us he is an angel and he was once a soldier. This could link back to something Apocalypse Bobby said to Mary about all angels turning against them eventually. Was this actually foreshadowing for Castiel?
