A Stranger Things season 2 stand-out, Caleb’s little sister Erica quickly became a fan-favorite because of her comedic one-liners, sassy facial expressions, and knack for mocking her nerdy brother and his friends. Netflix released some new spoilers today about what’s in store for the series’ third season, and it looks like Erica will be back in a big way. It was confirmed that after guest-starring in season 2, actress Priah Ferguson will be promoted to a recurring star when the show returns, appearing in every new episode.
But it looks like Erica won’t be staying back at home playing while her brother gets to go on all the adventures. Netflix revealed we will see Erica along with “an army of friends,” in season 3. Together, Erica and her classmates will go on a mission of their own to protect Hawkins from a new kind of enemy. We’re not sure what Erica will be up against, but we have a feeling she’ll make a badass fighter.

This also means we’re seeing a fourth age-group of friends battling against the Upside Down. Something that’s worked very well on the series the past two seasons is the way the adults, teens, and kids all brought different strengths to the table, uniting together against the Demogorgon and Mind Frayer. With Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will entering high school, the boys aren’t really “kids” anymore, so it makes sense to see a younger group joining the crew.
