AMC releases more new images for Fear the Walking Dead season 4

AMC dropped new images ahead of the season 4 premiere of Fear the Walking Dead. The images reveal the fate of major characters and give fans another look at Morgan’s arrival to the series.

Fear the Walking Dead left fans on the edge of their seats with a major cliffhanger closing out its third season. Nick led a standoff with the Proctors on the dam in hopes that Madison, Alicia, and Strand would get away safely by boat. After destroying the dam, Nick then gets help from Daniel in trying to escape. Due to the collapsing dam, everyone gets swept up in the surging flood waters. Madison was the only character revealed to have survived–until now.
AMC has officially released first-look images and promos ahead of the new season slated for April. The images not only provide looks at new characters, they also provide key details regarding returning characters. With new show runners, a major cast overhaul, and a new Texas-based location, it will interesting to see the next chapter in the Clark family journey.
What’s to come?
Here is the official synopsis for Fear the Walking Dead season 4 and a look at some of the latest photos:
"In Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead, fans will see the world of Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and her family through new eyes — the eyes of Morgan Jones (Lennie James), joining the story from the world of The Walking Dead. In the new season, the characters’ immediate past mixes with an uncertain present of struggle and discovery as they meet new friends, foes and threats. They fight for each other, against each other and against a legion of the dead, all to somehow build an existence amid the crushing pressure of lives coming apart. There will be darkness and light; terror and grace; the heroic, mercenary, and craven, all crashing together towards a new reality for Fear the Walking Dead."
Fates revealed
According to the images it sure seems like the Clark family remains intact for the beginning of season 4. Alicia and Nick have made their way back to Madison and are forging a new path of survival. The family looks to be joined by Strand after his fate was also left a mystery last season. Most noteworthy is the groups’s fresh look and they look to be exploring new areas. Is it possible they join a group or are they successfully scavenging on their own?
Luciana’s return
In addition to Strand and the Clarks, Luciana (Danay Garcia) will also be making a return this season. Fans last saw her in season 3 after she left Nick at the Otto compound. The details surrounding Luciana’s reunion with Nick remain a mystery. It seems safe to assume she will become a major part of the season.
Luciana will serve as an important ally for the Clarks and may have connections as well as intel on where they can stay. It will be interesting to learn where she went after she left the ranch and, consequently, who she met along the way. The series has made it very clear how difficult it is to survive, especially alone.

New cast members
Even though fans have positively reacted to FTWD, especially as of late, changes are certainly coming this season. Creator of the comics and EP to both Walking Dead series, Robert Kirkman, teased those changes in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:
"“I don’t want to spoil anything story-wise, but we are changing things a great deal. It’s going to be a much different show that is not going to alienate any viewers that have been enjoying the show from season 1 to 3, but will give those people new things to love, and new characters to latch onto. It’s really going to shake things up.”"
The story will certainly have a few new faces this season in addition to a new setting. A few months ago it was announced that Garret Dillahunt (John), Jenna Elfman (Naomi), and Maggie Grace (Althea) have joined the cast. The trio might be new to the show but considering the images, they don’t look like newcomers in terms of survival. They will most likely converge at some point and interact with the Clarks in some capacity. Whether they become friends or foes is up in the air.
The most noteworthy addition this season is the crossover of The Walking Dead‘s Lennie James with his character Morgan. The character, who is currently still in Alexandria, will somehow find his way to Texas. According to a promo it was revealed that Morgan would encounter Grace’s character Althea. Now it looks like we have confirmation that Morgan also meets the Clarks–specifically Nick. The two look unsure of each other at first glance but that is probably a common occurrence in their world of survival. Any fan of The Walking Dead knows that it’s best to have someone like Morgan on your side.
Since the April premiere is inching closer, be on the lookout for a full trailer. More details regarding Morgan’s journey will make more sense once The Walking Dead‘s current season closes out. There is a lot to look forward to with the new season and thankfully we don’t have much longer to wait.
