Scoobynatural is almost here. Now the trailer and synopsis have been released, it’s time to break them down and figure out what we can expect.

Since it was announced, the Supernatural Scooby-Doo crossover has been highly anticipated. This is the first chance we see the Winchesters in animation (in the series; there is an anime version of the show) and we get to see them come up against the Scooby Gang.

Scooby references have been added to the series throughout since the first season. Whether it’s Dean commenting that he likes Daphne or Crowley commenting that he’s more of a Daphne than a Velma, there have been moments that have almost foreshadowed this event.

More from Supernatural

Well, now “Scoobynatural” is finally here. Now that there’s a trailer and synopsis, it’s time to break them down and figure out what to expect.

#1. It’s back in three weeks

Actually, we didn’t need the Supernatural Season 13, Episode 16 promo to tell us this. SPN Hunters already shared the planned mini-Hellatus coming up this month. It’s annoying when a show comes back for a break and then almost immediately goes back on another, but it’s happening.

Supernatural isn’t back until March 29. The great news is we should find ourselves instantly into this world of Scooby-Doo and the Gang.

#2. Castiel will be part of it

Many may have worried about whether we’d see Castiel again anytime soon. Well, he is definitely going to be in this episode. The synopsis tells us so, even if he isn’t in the promo trailer. He’s also in the first-look photos from Entertainment Weekly, so you can even see his animation right now.

How Castiel will be part of it is unknown. We see Sam and Dean get pulled into it through the TV, but not how Castiel is pulled into Scooby world. Mind you, remember “Changing Channels?” We didn’t see how he got pulled into that one either, but he did.

#3. The spell of a witch?

There are a lot of questions about how Sam, Dean, and Cass will end up in the TV world again. SPN Hunters has previously suggested Gabriel, since he did it last time. However, there are a few arguments against that. One of those came up in the promo.

Did you catch the purple glow from the TV? Purple is often the color used for witches, especially recently. Remember that Rowena was covered in purple after getting her hands on the spell to protect herself from Lucifer. It’s possible that she has a hand to play in all this.

#4. Dean has a thing for Daphne

We didn’t need the promo to tell us this, but it’s certainly confirmed it. One the Winchesters realize they’re in the world of Scooby-Doo, Dean instantly calls dibs on Daphne. I’d love to see Sam’s reaction to that. Will he be surprised or just know his brother way too well?

Dean has always had a thing for Daphne. He admitted it in one of the earlier seasons of the series. And honestly, it’s not that surprising. Daphne was always the damsel in distress. Will the series stick to that or opt for the movie version that saw Sarah Michelle Gellar add a kickass element to the character?

#5. It should be typical Scooby-Doo

This jumps to more of the photos than the promo or synopsis, but it certainly looks like there’s a typical Scooby-Doo feel to the episode. We’ll see them hiding in pots and hopefully have the chase scenes that have always been a highlight of the series.

Scooby looks like his typical self and the music fits the animated series. There’s definitely a lot that feels like old-school animation. Hopefully, they’ll also have the typical ending to the mystery.

"Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Castiel (Misha Collins) are transported into the animated world of Scooby Doo where they join forces with the Scooby gang to solve a ghostly mystery."
