Life Sentence Episode 2 preview and live stream: Re-Inventing the Abbotts

After the soft viewing figures last week, Lucy Hale’s new pilot, Life Sentence, is back to try again. This week it’s time to see the new Abbott family.

For the last eight years, Stella Abbott believed she was going to die, her parents were happily married, and that her husband loved everything she did. Suddenly, she learned that so much was false and had no idea how she fit into the world anymore. Now it’s time to live the rest of her life and that starts with Life Sentence Episode 2, “Re-Inventing the Abbotts.”

The series is keeping the light-hearted approach, with Hales’ narration throughout the episodes. However, it looks like there will be more focus on her marriage this week. We already knew she and Wes married on a whim, as he believed she was going to die within the year anyway. It wasn’t a major consequence for him.

However, he also made it clear in the end that he loved her and wanted to be with her now that Stella had made it through the cancer. That should have been obvious with the way he hugged the doctor at the start of the last episode. He was ecstatic that Stella had the all-clear.

Stella and Wes together is the storyline I’m most looking forward to moving forward. They’ll face ordinary problems in an extraordinary situation. So many couples make a decision to marry after just a month, but Stella and Wes did it for somewhat the right reasons. Can they now make it work? I’m certainly rooting for them!

And it’s not just about their feelings. They now need to prove that their marriage isn’t fraudulent. The two will get a visit from the Immigration and Neutralization Services (INS) and there are certainly alarm bells when they admit to only knowing each other a month before getting married. Why INS, though? Well, remember that Wes is British and they’ll want to get him rights to remain in the country now that Stella isn’t dying.
