The Mick Season 2, Episode 17 recap
With Alba going to the city for a weekend spa vacation, what could possibly go wrong when Mickey is left in charge? As we all know, the sky’s the limit for Mickey and the gang. Check out what happened this week on The Mick.
Although unsure if Mickey can handle running the household on her own, Alba decides to take the weekend off to relax and unwind at a spa. But, in true Alba fashion, she ends up getting herself stuck in the bathroom of the train as it arrives at Penn Station, which is its last stop for the weekend.
When Mickey and Jimmy go out for the night, leaving Sabrina in charge, they meet Doug who helps Jimmy win a fight over a parking spot, sparking a promising bromance between the two. Unfortunately Mickey has to cut her night short to go pick up Ben from the police station because he was riding his bike along the highway since Sabrina left home to go party herself.
The next night Mickey hatches a plan. She decides handcuffing Sabrina to Ben will convince the former to stay home and watch her brothers. Mickey and Jimmy then go to a restaurant to meet Doug and his girlfriend, who turns out to be a guy named Eric, much to the surprise of Jimmy.
Choosing to fight fire with fire, Sabrina goes to the Chinese restaurant where Mickey and co. are eating. She chains the Colonel to Mickey’s car and refuses to let Mickey be unless she hands over the keys to the handcuffs.
Both unwilling to babysit for the night. Mickey and Sabrina face-off inside the restaurant, resulting in the pair being escorted out by the police, leaving Ben and the Colonel to fend for themselves and find their own way home since Jimmy bailed because Doug wasn’t who he thought he was.

Meanwhile, sometime into the second night of her failed spa getaway, Alba has made a new friend. Her only company in the train bathroom, besides a handy flask, is a rat who seems to be trapped as well. But just as her liquor runs dry a train inspector opens the bathroom door, freeing both Alba and the rat.
Stuck in the drunk tank, the aunt/niece duo continue to butt heads before setting their differences aside in a heart-touching scene between Mickey and Sabrina. In the meantime, Chip makes the most of being home alone before accidentally cutting the tips off multiple fingers while making a sandwich.

Having consumed what appeared to be the majority of a case of beer in his car outside the aforementioned restaurant, Jimmy is in an unusually sour, but still drunken, mood. Doug finds him in this state and the two decide to talk it out. Jimmy’s problem with Doug stems from his experience with a childhood friend who didn’t tell him about his sexuality, leaving him feeling hurt and believing that their friendship was built on lies. The two eventually come to an understanding and give their friendship another shot.
With Alba, Sabrina, Ben, and the Colonel arriving home early the next morning they find the house has been turned into a bloody mess. Discovering Chip barely conscious in the bathtub, Alba barks orders at Sabrina and Ben, breathing an air of authority back into the house when it’s needed most.

Directed by award winning actress Eva Longoria, who is also currently expecting her first child, this episode of The Mick was full of hilarious moments. What were your favorite scenes?
