Is Supernatural finally getting the recognition it deserves?
The stars of Supernatural are finally appearing on big talk shows but is this too little too late for recognition.
It’s been a long-standing joke that while the Supernatural fandom is strong, the show doesn’t get recognition from the other networks. The stars are barely on talk shows and very rarely get award nominations (especially the major awards like the Emmys). Considering the series is on its 13th season, it seems odd!
Is the show finally getting the recognition it deserves? Back in October, Jared Padalecki went on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote the 13th season and now Jensen Ackles will be on there next week. The stars are also appearing on The Talk and there may be many more appearances lined up in the future.

Getting on the talk shows is important. This helps spread the news that the show is running. And it’s important to do that for a show like Supernatural, which is the longest-running sci-fi show behind Doctor Who. It’s also the longest-running series on The CW, predating the actual network!

But this could be too little too late for the fans. Even if it is getting recognition, fans are already annoyed that other networks haven’t given the series its deserved attention in previous years. It looks like talk shows are just trying to make up for it now that the series continues to perform well for the teen-focused network.
It may also not be enough for awards. We may never see Supernatural even get nominated for an Emmy, let alone the actors. To be honest, it is difficult for the Emmys, especially the Best Actor Award. It’s not like both Ackles and Padalecki can be nominated and win together and it’s not fair to choose one over the other is it? Just a nod to the series itself would be perfect.
Why are we talking about Emmys right now? Well, many shows are starting the Emmy rounds. The nominations are announced in July but will be discussed right now. We want Supernatural to be at the front of those discussions.
