Last month, the production of Deadpool 2 did some reshoots to give the audiences more of what it loved about the first entry. In the same report, THR explains the reshoots also involved a secret cameo that was added at the last-minute.

Which begs to question, who will this secret cameo be? Just for fun, let’s speculate who this super secret person is in the upcoming sequel. Keep in mind, this article will not be mentioning Stan Lee because it’s doubtful the studio would keep his cameo so close to the chest.

Here are a few possibilities this cameo could be in Deadpool 2:

#1 Wolverine/Hugh Jackman

This will probably end up being the cameo, mainly because both Ryan Renolds and Hugh Jackman have been rooting for it since the inception of Deadpool. Despite the events of Logan, the character of Wolverine could still make an appearance in the film for two specific reasons: 1) The timeline of Deadpool 2 takes place far before the events of Logan and 2) the universe of Deadpool technically operates by its own rules. Plus, there’s the additional element of Cable being involved with time travel, which can play a huge role in the brief resurgence of Wolverine. If none of this applies, then Hugh Jackman could just end up playing himself, adding to the super-meta universe of Wade Wilson.

#2 Laura Kinney, also known as X-23

How this could become a thing is uncertain, but again, it’s Deadpool, the possibilities are endless  Logan’s daughter was one of the highlights of that film, so much so that even James Mangold considered doing a standalone X-23 movie. How she would fit into the narrative is anyone’s guess, but maybe they will somehow tie the film into Logan, or maybe Deadpool meets her through time travel. This most likely will not happen, but with Deadpool being allowed to poke fun at other X-Men films, I would not be surprised if it did.

#3 Professor X -Stewart, McAvoy or both

“McAvoy or Stewart? These timelines are confusing.” One of the greatest jokes from the first film could come to the life in the next film. Depending on the budget of this movie they could easily have both versions of the same character appear in the film and make jokes themselves about their timeline discrepancies.  This would also mark the second time both versions of the same character appeared on-screen together which would be pretty fantastic. All this aside, if they end up choosing one version of Xavier, let it be Sir Patrick Stewart.

This is a humongous long shot, but if this were to become true, it would be a massive event. Disney has been in conversations to buy Fox for months, and what better way to seal the deal than with a massive crossover with Deadpool himself. Imagine Robert Downey Jr. walking on the screen asking Wade Wilson to join a unique blend of superheroes, and Ryan Reynolds saying “No thanks, kiss kiss bang bang.” It would be an epic way to make the final announcement, and it would be one of the most talked about cameos since Nick Fury in Iron Man. You probably shouldn’t hold your breath though.
