Tokyo Ghoul has become an anime that has found success within the anime fandom, as well as breaking into mainstream notoriety – making it a clear reason to continue. With plenty of source material from the ongoing manga series in Japan, the three years between seasons gave Studio Pierrot plenty of time to manufacture the return of one of their biggest titles in recent years. The anime distribution company Funimation has managed to maintain their rights to the series for the upcoming installment, finally revealing an English dub of the trailer ahead of its release next week.

The trailer depicts a group of new team for us to follow, but as you can imagine there are going to be very crucial connections to the original characters and stories that transpired over the two seasons. The trailer comes with the announcement that Tokyo Ghoul:re will air a SimulDubbing, which means that fans will get to experience either the English or Japanese dubbing on the same day as it airs in Japan. Funimation typically selects only those series that have a high demand, such as My Hero Academia, proving that they know that there is still an intense desire for more from Tokyo Ghoul.

After the second season concluded with some heavier themes, the third season will pick up two years after a city-wide attack and showcases the idea of ghouls becoming weaponized through the police task force known as the CCG. One of these characters in particular is actually someone who has been around from the beginning, but this new amnesic version of said character will have plenty of hardships to face before finding any peace in the world that Tokyo Ghoul has crafted.

Tokyo Ghoul:re will be available to stream through Funimation starting April 3, so make sure to binge the series once again and check out the official trailer above!
