Timeless advanced preview: Season 2, episode 4 The Salem Witch Hunt

Timeless heads to Salem, Massachusetts to prevent Rittenhouse from killing the future of the United States. But the present is messier than ever. And a major prediction for the future becomes a reality.
Just when it seemed like Lucy (Abigail Spencer) and Wyatt (Matt Lanter) had their feeling sorted out, last week’s Timeless threw us one of the biggest curveballs yet! Wyatt learned very quickly that in order to do this job he had to accept his own past and he finally seemed to be ready to embrace the possibilities that the future holds. Unfortunately, Rittenhouse had other ideas. Whatever they’re up to isn’t entirely clear just yet but one thing is for sure; they changed the past and Jessica (Tonya Glanz) is still very much alive! What else can you expect in Episode 4 “The Salem Witch Hunt”?

While Wyatt takes some time to sort out the present, the other two #ClockBlockers have a mission. Lucy and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) prepare to head to Salem, Massachusetts on September 22nd, which is the date of the last Witch Trial hangings. Seven women and one man were hanged that night in 1692 for “crimes” of “witchcraft”. They were all accused by people close to them. One particularly notable victim of that night’s murders was Martha Corey, who was accused by Bathsheba Pope (played in this week’s episode by Emily Swallow who Supernatural fans might remember as Amara) who shares an interesting familial connection to one of our founding fathers.
Things get particularly dicey when Lucy’s mother shows up to accuse her daughter, causing the events to spiral out from an attempt to save one woman and possibly the entire foundation of the United States and instead a tried and true rescue mission that saves all of the eight accused witches, thus eliminating the term “Witch Hunt” from the present’s lexicon.
