Timeless has finally reunited Wyatt with his once murdered wife Jessica but will he soon learn that she is, in fact, a Rittenhouse agent?

I would like to quickly point out how bizarre writing “reunited with his once murdered wife” was. Anyone who has never watched, or heard, of Timeless is not only missing out but is going to be wondering what on earth it is we are discussing.

However, you all know what I meant. Wyatt’s wife has murdered long ago and now, thanks to that handy thing called time travel, the events of the past have been changed and Jessica is alive. The two are finally back together. Unfortunately, this means that the Wyatt Lucy relationship has had come to an end.

Or has it? Will the relationship rekindle itself once Wyatt learns that Jessica is actually a Rittenhouse agent?

Jessica, a Rittenhouse agent

It’s only a working theory but hear me out.

In season one of Timeless, Wyatt spent a huge amount of time and effort trying to get Jessica back. He did a Back to the Future moment where he sent a telegram from the past warning of her murder. It failed. He prevented the conception of her murder, thinking if the murderer was never born he cannot commit the murder. Unfortunately, that plan failed too.

No matter what Waytt did it never worked. He even ended up getting court-martialed for his efforts. By the end of the season, Wyatt had come to realize that it was never meant to be. She was gone forever and he had to move on.

And he did. Fast forward to the present of Timeless season 2 and Wyatt was no longer attempting to change the past to bring her back. He even looked like he was moving on by getting together with Lucy, which the entire Fandom cheered in delight.

But then she came back. Events were changed in the past and Jessica was back. But it wasn’t Wyatt or any of the other time team members who brought her back. It was Rittenhouse.

Now the way I am looking at this is if Rittenhouse were able to bring her back, but the time team couldn’t, then Rittenhouse had knowledge about her death that only Rittenhouse had. For example, being a Rittenhouse agent. Maybe that was why she was murdered. It was a Rittenhouse mission gone wrong.

Another idea is that if she wasn’t an agent when she was murdered she is one now. The idea being that they brought her back then got hold of her and gave her the ultimatum. Work for us or you die, again. This is why she has been so accepting of Wyatt and the rest of the team.

Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan

Another small point to add that backs up my possible theory is Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan. These two have been involved in more shows than I can count and looking at what they have been involved in, one thing is clear. They don’t do love triangle and they like a good twist.

Now granted you are going to find the odd love story amongst their work but they are not making a habit of it. And any love triangle type scenario they do have doesn’t last very long.

So why would they start doing it with it Timeless?

The answer is, they haven’t. Jessica hasn’t been brought in to create a love triangle. They have brought her in to create a shocking twist. A Rittenhouse agent. Like I said. It’s a theory. But a theory I am certain will come true pretty soon.
