CBS renews 11 shows for 2018-2019 season: What’s still on the bubble?

CBS has given 11 more shows the renewal treatment. So far, no more cancellations have been made, but what’s currently still on the bubble for the network?

It’s the time of year for renewals and cancellations, and CBS has made a decision on 11 more shows. Hot off the back of NCIS Season 16, the new show renewals takes the total to 17 across the network. Now the big question is what’s been renewed and what’s still on the bubble for the 2018-2019 season?

The renewed shows are not surprising at all. What is surprising is the time it’s taken for them. The 11 shows getting the renewal treatment, according to CBS’ press release, are:

  • Entire Friday Night Lineup – “MacGyver,” “Hawaii Five-0” and “Blue Bloods”
  • The Dramas “Bull,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “Madam Secretary”
  • Reality Series “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race”
  • CBS News Broadcasts “60 Minutes” and “48 Hours”

More from CBS

Not only has NCIS Season 16 already been confirmed, but so has The Big Bang Theory Season 12 (likely the last), Young Sheldon Season 2, SEAL Team Season 2, and S.W.A.T. Season 2.

What’s left to renew?

CBS’ whole Monday night lineup is still to be renewed. This includes shows like Kevin Can Wait and Man with a Plan.

We’re also still waiting to hear about Instinct, Life in Pieces, and Scorpion.

The biggest bubble show is Criminal Minds. We get the Season 13 finale and for another year the show is going into its break without a renewal order. There are talks of Season 14, but still nothing concrete to set our minds at ease at the major cliffhanger we’ve been teased with. Hopefully, Criminal Minds will at least get a short-order for Season 14. It would be a shame for it to go out on 299 episodes!
