Marvel: Could we see Riri Williams as Ironheart in the MCU?
With big changes coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, could we see Riri Williams introduced as Ironheart?
Avengers: Infinity War is now playing in theaters, we’ll all know a little bit more about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even if we don’t get the full picture of what’s to come until after Avengers 4, we can have some fun speculating about it until then.
We know that someone is going to die as a result of Thanos trying to take over everything. Probably multiple heroes, actually. With that in mind, Marvel will surely be adding new heroes to the mix. They brought Tom Holland in as Spider-Man to bring a younger, fresh face to the mix. Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 is set to kick off phase four for the MCU.

If Iron Man is one of the characters who dies, Riri Williams would make sense as a replacement. Not that anyone can really “replace” Robert Downey Jr., but they would need to introduce a new face. Riri Williams is Ironheart in the comics and she’s mentored by Tony Stark. However, if Stark dies in the movies, they’d have to work around that a little.

Here’s one way they could do that. We’ve seen Tony gives talks at schools and he has given out scholarships. Riri could easily have been a recipient of one of those scholarships or grants and come up with a spectacular invention. That’s a relatively simple way to just have her appear in the MCU without raising too many questions.

However, they could also just make Shuri into Ironheart if they really want to stray from the origin of the character. She’s likely smarter than Tony Stark already and it wouldn’t be much of a stretch. Either way, I think it would be great to see a version of Ironheart in the MCU in the future.
