Chicago Fire Season 6, Episode 21 preview: The Unrivaled Standard
A blast from the past returns to Chicago Fire and it could threaten to throw Stellaride completely off course. Meanwhile, Boden needs Casey’s help in a recent pursuit.
The minute Sarah Shahi was confirmed in a three-episode arc on Chicago Fire, I worried about what it meant for Stellaride. This was at the point that Stella was still dating Zach, so I did wonder if it would push the two together. Now it looks like it could threaten everything the two have been working towards.
Sure enough, Renee is back and Stella is about to find out exactly what she meant to Severide. This was Kelly’s big love way back in Chicago Fire Season 1, and it wouldn’t be surprising to learn that he still holds a torch for her. Of course, that torch won’t burn as bright as it once did, but it’s there. The last we saw of Renee, she’d turned to Kelly and pretended that she was pregnant with his child. What’s she going back now?

It turns out that she’s here for work. Her law firm has taken on a pro bono case that involves two injured firefighters from an oil refinery fire. She needs someone to take the witness stand, presumably as an expert, and of course, she thought about Severide. He’s not sure he has time but learning that two firefighters need a positive outcome to get the financial help they need could be the push he needs to help.

Meanwhile, Casey is going to help Boden on a recent pursuit. Boden has recently got his head back in the game but what’s his latest pursuit all about?
