Silicon Valley Season 6 is already a go at HBO. What can we expect from the Pied Piper gang in the future?

Wow. Who expected this season of Silicon Valley to end so soon? And what a way to go. After eight packed episodes of breakneck tech bureaucracy, the Pied Piper gang is finally poised for massive success. Oh, before we go any further, here’s where I tell you that there are spoilers ahead. But, honestly, if you’re a Silicon Valley fan, you should already know about all the perils of the internet, so that’s on you.

It seems that the Pied Piper crew has been inching closer and closer to dominance of the tech world with every passing season of Silicon Valley. And, as we all know, hat growth hasn’t come easily. Even though Richard and Co. have fantastic ideas, groundbreaking tech, and a team full of stallions, they’ve stalled time and time again when it comes to passing the finish line. In their quest for success, they’ve pivoted more times than Ross Geller on Friends, but this time Piper Net seems to be the key to a win for them.

At the conclusion of Season 5, the gang calls upon their unique brand of quick thinking in order to save the future of Piper Net. After Monica (Amanda Crew) and Gilfoyle (Martin Starr) uncover an anomaly in the user base, Richard (Thomas Middleditch) rushes to stall the nefarious Laurie Bream (Suzanne Cryer) from gaining a 51% control of the technology. Meanwhile, Dinesh (Kumail Nanjiani) and Jared (Zach Woods) power up, Tesla style, to Joshua Tree to locate gaming guru (Neil Casey) and add all his legit users to the service before it’s too late. Everyone succeeds, and it’s a well-earned win for the gang. Yet, success has its own stressors, and in the closing scene of the season, the gang is left standing in a giant, open space, ripe with possibility but also full of the unknown.

The conclusion of Season 5 may have served as a decent and satisfying ending to the series as a whole, but fans are in luck because HBO has already ordered a sixth season of the show. However, it’s very possible that the sixth season could be the last, so here are some questions we’d like answered in Silicon Valley Season 6.

Will Gavin Get Another Chance At Hooli?

Seeing as Pied Piper took over a large chunk of Hooli space at the conclusion of Season 5, it seems as if Gavin Belson (Matt Ross) has been officially dethroned as the head of his once-dominant tech enterprise. However, since Gavin provides such a deliciously egotistic and power-hungry foil for the burgeoning Pied Piper, we’re truly hoping this isn’t the last we see of him.

When Richard visits Gavin’s busted up mansion in the finale, the Hooli king is whipping up a batch of ice cream like it’s nbd. Before Richard leaves, he samples the ice cream and then drops the bowl in casual triumph. Well, at the very least, the ice cream is edible. So maybe next season we’ll see Gavin starting up his own chain of ice cream shops. Those shops would certainly need a web presence, so perhaps the tables will turn and Gavin will need our gang at Pied Piper at some point in time. At least we can hope so.

Where’s Laurie Going to Pop Up Next?

Ah, Laurie Bream. Has anyone ever considered that Laurie is actually one of the robots from Eklow Labs? She exhibits far less emotion than Fiona, and she’s way more ruthless than anyone could have thought. At this point, Laurie has already let Monica know that there are no hard feelings about her transition to Pied Piper, but that doesn’t mean she’s not going to do everything in her power to stop them if it means increasing her bottom line. With Gavin out of power, Laurie Bream may just become a formidable adversary to Pied Piper’s eventual success.

What’s the Deal with Gilfoyle and Monica?

Thanks to Monica’s insatiable curiosity and Gilfoyle’s skeptical eye, the two uncovered Laurie’s scheme to render Piper Net useless. Monica shrewdly observed that Piper Coin wasn’t responding to the uptick in users on Piper Net. She had a hunch that these two things should be at least minimally correlated and then called the issue to Gilfoyle’s attention. Apparently Monica knows these guys well, because Gilfoyle’s constant pessimism and desire to problem solve made him the perfect candidate to get to the bottom of the issue.

Of course Monica and Gilfoyle aren’t each other’s types – like, at all – so we predict that nothing is going to happen with them in the upcoming season. In fact, we kind of hope Monica doesn’t get romantically involved with anyone on the show, Richard included. It’s been such a breath of fresh air to have a competent female perspective on the actual Pied Piper team that we’d hate for Monica to be relegated to simple love interest anytime soon.

How Many More Times Will Richard Stress-Hurl?

And, on a more serious note, how will Richard handle this massive increase in responsibility at Pied Piper? The Season 5 finale had echoes of the Season 1 finale in which an exuberant Monica details all of the hella stressful duties that Richard will be expected to take on as the business grows.

Now that Richard has both the super capable Jared and the uber knowledgeable Monica on his team, it seems like there’s nothing he can’t achieve. To paraphrase that awful karaoke song that Dinesh constantly insists on singing – “Richard’s the Pied Piper, follow him!” There may be a lot of stress-vomit yet to come, but at least we know there’s some sort of success in the future for our gang.

When Will Jian Yang Get Back Home?

Seriously. This can’t happen soon enough. We missed you, Jian Yang. Come back home where you belong, making snarky comments, burning trash, and just generally owning everyone in sight.
