Monster Week returns to Animal Planet for Memorial Day
It’s Memorial Day in the States soon and that means one thing: Monster Week on Animal Planet.
Not sure how to spend Memorial Day week? How about with a Monster Week special? That’s exactly what Animal Planet is bringing you. There’s some exciting, scary, and intense footage coming up, whether you’re interested in the search for the largest bear in Alaska, an exploration for Big Foot, or even a search for the British Isles sea monsters.
Monster Week starts on Sunday, May 27 and will run for the whole week to bring some of the most intense footage you’ve ever seen. There are some eye-popping moments that make it clear the animal kingdom is wild, powerful, and amazing.

Finding Bigfoot kickstarts the weekend with the 100th episode of the season. This two-hour special airs on May 27 at 8/7c, and will see the team of investigators delve into California’s Willow Creek. Not only is this the 100th episode, but it’s also the 50th anniversary of that first piece of footage for the legendary creature.

Following the two-hour special, there’s another one-hour program featuring the investigators. They’ll share their stories and their experiences from their time searching for Bigfoot for the last 10 years.
The Lost Kingdom of the Yeti airs on May 28 at 8/7c, as Mark Evans steps into the Bhutanese wilderness after new reports of mysterious footprints in the snow. He’ll head into the Himalayas, going further into his search than he or anyone has done before.
Tuesday will see Monsters of The Abyss, which sees Richie Kohler and Evan Kovacs go to the British Isles in search for the legendary sea monsters. They’ll explore a German U-boat wreck, which could be the UB-85, the U-boat that many clained to have been destroyed by a sea monster during World War I.
Of course, the episode, which airs at 8/7c, will take viewers to Scotland in the search for the Loch Ness Monster. There’s a potential link between Nessie and the UB-85.
Then on Sunday, June 3, Fear Island airs one of its most highly anticipated episodes yet. Bradley Trevor Greive takes an elite team into the Alaskan wilderness. They cover uncharted land to go in search for Grandfather, the bear the locals believe is the largest ever on Earth.

Also, don’t miss Weird, True & Freaky, which will air new episodes throughout the week, starting on Monday at 10/9c. The episodes will show you all the terrifying but awe-inspiring things animals can get up to, counting down the 10 most eye-popping moments ever caught on video.
