#14 Knight and Day

Box Office Earnings: Worldwide, Knight and Day collected $261.9 million, $76.4 million of this domestically. Reportedly, the film was made with a budget of $117.

Critical Acclaim: At Award shows, the Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz’s movie was unfortunately ignored. The critics at Rotten Tomatoes weren’t huge fans, either, giving the movie a score of 52% rotten.

About the Role: Tom Cruise plays Roy Miller aka Matthew Knight in Knight and Day. He stars opposite actress Cameron Diaz. At the time of casting, Cruise had other potential projects. The actor decided to take on this movie because it’s the one that allowed him to modify the character, which, as you know from Tropic Thunder, Cruise is fantastic at.

Simply the Best: If you ask me, Knight and Day is underrated. While admittedly not Cruise’s most breathtaking film, I defend its spot on the list. Every actor needs a fun romantic comedy with a side of action, and that’s what Knight and Day is. There are also several small roles featuring now-big stars that are fun to watch, some of these include Gal Gadot and Viola Davis.
