The world thinks some animal species are extinct, but wildlife biologist Forrest Galante is on a mission to see if that’s really the case. Watch his upcoming venture into the Madagascar jungle in this Extinct or Alive exclusive clip.

To the world, many species of animals are now extinct. However, it turns out that they may be alive and that’s just what wildlife biologist Forrest Galante is on a mission to find out. In this second week of Animal Planet’s Extinct or Alive, he takes a trip to the Madagascar jungle, where he goes deep (or more like high) into lemur territory.

In this exclusive peek of the episode, you’ll see the efforts Galante takes to make sure he finds out whether his thoughts on the Pachylemur are true or not. Locals say they’ve seen the giant red animal, so armed with research he’s going to see if it’s still around. It does mean climbing the trees in the jungle, going higher than any human has been in the area and taking things to the next level of the Madagascar jungle.

More from Reality TV

Extinct or Alive‘s premiere episode saw Galante prove that the Zanzibar Leopard, which was thought to be extinct for 25 years, is actually still roaming the Earth. This is a chance to prove more wrong, as many have believed the Pachylemur has been extinct for more than a century! However, recent remains prove that may not be the case and the ape-sized, red, furry animals may be alive after all.

You’ll need to watch the clip below to see if he actually spots the Pachylemur that he’s looking for.
