Will Arrow Season 7 be the end for the series?
Stephen Amell has asked the Arrow writers to view the seventh season as the last. Does this mean Arrow Season 7 is the end of the CW series?
CinemaBlend reports that Stephen Amell has requested the writers of Arrow view the most recent season as the last one. This sounds like a hint that he knows Arrow Season 7 will be the last, but is that really the case? The good news is not at all–at least, not yet!
Amell doesn’t have any inside secrets. He’s not spoken to The CW or Warner Bros. about his future with the show and doesn’t share he has plans to leave. What he doesn’t want is for the writers to hold back on the series, assuming that there will be an eighth season. He makes a note that there are no guarantees and the show could be canceled next year.
Right now it doesn’t seem likely, but Amell is definitely telling the truth. Viewership for the series could drop drastically, leaving The CW with no choice but to cancel the series with little warning. However, The CW has been kind enough to give most shows a warning that they’re getting canceled–allowing them a final swan song for at least 13 episodes. If the network was going to cancel Arrow, we’d have to hope that there would be the warning.

Amell doesn’t want to leave anything to chance, though. He wants Arrow Season 7 to be exciting and fun. If there’s a story the writers think is worth telling, he wants it to happen in the seventh season. After all, new storylines can be thought of for the eighth season if (and more like when) it happens. Amell just wants to make sure the season isn’t boring–and quite honestly, that’s what we all want.
The series is already going through a change of leadership. Beth Schwartz has taken on the duties of executive producer and showrunner. The great news is that she’s been there from the beginning and knows the team. She will also bring her own fresh ideas on how to run things, which could spark things up a little after a questionable couple of years. This coupled with Amell’s wish for the writers to view this as the last season could help to bring the writer back up to par and bring viewers back to the series.
