The Bodega Boys continue to climb the ranks in late-night as the two rising stars take their talents to Showtime.

The brand is stronger than ever.

Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, better known as Desus and Mero, are leaving Viceland to host Showtime’s first weekly-half hour late night series. The new show, which will debut sometime in 2019, will feature the two comedians giving off-the-cuff takes and interacting with guests in the realms of pop culture, sports, entertainment, politics, and more.

Showtime president and CEO David Nevins said in a release. “We have waited a long time to enter the talk-show space, and we were only going to do it if we felt like we had the next big thing. Desus and Mero feel like exactly that: They have knockout comedic voices, they’re brilliant interviewers and they always have a unique take on culture both high and low. They have a loyal and devoted fan base that will only multiply, and we can’t wait to see them take it to the next level on Showtime.”

More from Hidden Remote

Daniel Baker (Desus) and Joel Martinez (Mero) both started their comedic careers on Twitter. After releasing their unique personalities and takes to the public, the duo began to make videos for Complex. After starting the successful Bodega Boys podcast and appearances on MTV’s Guy Code, Desus and Hero made their late-night debut on Viceland back in 2016.

The duo are both excited to work with Showtime. Mero said, “I’m excited to be joining a network with such a strong foundation and track record of producing fuegooooo and to break new ground with a late-night comedy show!”

“We’re honored and excited to be joining the Showtime family,” Desus Nice said. “The brand is stronger than ever and we look forward to continuing to make amazing authentic television that will make your wiggington explode.”

Dubbed as the number one show in late-night, Desus and Nero’s colorful personalities attracted a loyal fanbase as well as the likes of illustrious guests and celebrities. Notable guests on the show include Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Seth Rogen, A$AP Rocky, Gabrielle Union, Bill Hader, and more.
