Lines of eager moviegoers were out the door this past weekend in theaters, all waiting to see Incredibles 2.
Three movies dropped in theaters this weekend, but all eyes were only on one — Incredibles 2! After 14 years since The Incredibles, we all ran to watch the movie ASAP — and, some of us, with our kids in tow! The sequel has won the hearts of critics and fans, it’s also arguably even better than the first. But whether you prefer the recent release or the 2004 original, there’s no denying Incredibles 2 is amazing!
The long-awaited sequel did incredibly well in theaters, exceeding predictions and expectations. How many records has the movie broken so far? Below is a list we’ll be updating as more milestones are crossed.

Incredibles 2 had the biggest opening for an animated movie, beating 2016’s Finding Dory. The Nemo sequel collected $135 million (domestically) on its opening weekend. Incredibles 2 took home $180 million (domestically).
Second best June debut, only behind Jurassic World.
Fifth biggest superhero comedy, beating Megamind, The Green Hornet, Kick-Ass, and more. Ahead of it are Big Hero Six, The Incredibles, Deadpool 2, and Deadpool. This is the movie’s first week, though, so its rank here is expected to grow. Will it surpass Deadpool 2?

Fourth best summer opening, taking down Captain America: Civil War and Iron Man 3. The top three, in order from number one, are Jurassic World, Marvel’s The Avengers, and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
