Reverie Season 1, Episode 4 recap: Mara learns about Reverie’s co-creator
For the last three episodes of Reverie, we’ve believed that Alexis created Reverie. It turns out that she had a co-creator, who has some news for Mara in Reverie Season 1, Episode 4.
Mara Kint has to help apprehend a thief in Reverie Season 1, Episode 4. What starts off as a person who is using reverie for dark reasons (literally known as “dark reverie”) turns into a mission to steal medicine for a young boy. To do that, she needs to help a man with severe OCD who can’t go in sunlight or near the color blue.
Meanwhile, mara deals with her own derealization. After another episode, she meets the reverie co-creator. That’s right! Alexis didn’t make it all herself and Mara wants some answers.
Why did Brynn appear?

Reverie Season 1, Episode 4 starts off where the last episode left us. Everything around Mara crumbled after Brynn told her there was a reason to be there. It turns out she was never at the apartment after all. She was in the middle of the road. As a truck barrels towards her, she’s pulled out of the way by a man who knows her.
This man is Oliver, the co-creator of reverie. Mara is shocked, considering nobody has ever mentioned him, but he has information that is intriguing to her. He tells her that reverie is extremely dangerous. This derealization will never go away.
When Mara turns to Charlie and Alexis for information, it’s clear they’re hiding something. Charlie tells Alexis to tell the truth, but it’s Paul who offers a little more information. He shows brain scans of Mara, himself, Alexis, and Charlie outside and inside reverie and later shows Oliver’s extremely abnormal brain patterns. After that, Mara decides to move onto the case, although Charlie pays Oliver a threatening visit.

Mara hunts out a thief
The case of the week in Reverie is to stop a man who has stolen reverie components. There are people out there who don’t agree with the rules put in place in reverie, but he’s found his way into the “dark reverie,” where anything is possible.
Mara realizes that the guy is trying to break into a drug company. She initially thinks it’s for his OCD, but finds out that it’s to steal drugs for his neighbor’s child who missed out on a clinical drug trial. However, he is willing to stop and give everything back (along with extra information about the dark reverie) if Mara and co. help him steal the drugs.
Now Mara needs to help him get over his fears and OCD. It’s not easy but Mara realizes that if he has something else to think about, he will be able to get through all the steps–the parts that are stopping him from carrying out the heist. Mara is able to help him, but Charlie stops him at the very end. It turns out the drug company CEO was alerted and it was viewed as a demonstration. Rather than pay for the demonstration into his company’s weaknesses, the drug company CEO gives the neighbor’s kid a place on the clinical trial.
Alexis tells Mara the truth
Finally, Mara learns the truth about Oliver from Alexis. She shares how the two used to work well, but then Oliver started to become paranoid. His mental health deteriorated but Oliver kept blaming reverie and then threated Alexis’ life. Charlie helped save Alexis and Oliver’s connection to reverie was cut off.
Of course, that’s not the end of Oliver’s story. He’s spotted at the very end bribing a security guard for the equipment, so he can get the “girl that got away.” It’s clear now that he means Alexis. Just what dangers are there inside reverie?
