Could the Supernatural 300th episode air on Dean’s birthday?

Supernatural Season 14 will see the 300th episode air. Could this be on January 24, Dean’s birthday?

We all want something special for the 300th episode of Supernatural. This is a major milestone for any show, but especially one that has been on the brink of cancellation multiple times in the past. Supernatural Season 14 will see the 300th episode air and Jason Fischer confirmed that it will be the 13th episode of the season. Could it possibly air on January 24, Dean’s birthday?

This is something many fans hope will happen. It would certainly be a special moment, especially with the season currently focused on saving Dean from Apocalypse Michael.

One thing working in favor of the theory is that January 24 will be a Thursday in 2019. Supernatural Season 14 will air on Thursdays on The CW. At least, this is the case for the fall. The CW did move Supernatural midseason a couple of years ago, but Season 13 it kept the Thursday night slot throughout the run. Hopefully, that will be the case for this season as we’re fed up of constantly changing nights!

The downside is the timing of the episodes and the schedule, especially with Supernatural getting a shorter season order this year. With just 20 episodes instead of 23, there will likely be a longer break somewhere. This could be during the winter to avoid too much disruption from January to May and keep the finale in May, which is when every other season has wrapped.

In previous seasons in recent years (I’m looking back to Season 10 for this), the episodes airing around January 24 (none have actually aired on this day) were Episodes 9-11. Considering Episode 13 is the Supernatural 300th episode, it’s highly unlikely January 24 will be the date for the milestone episode.

Episode 13 in the past tends to air in February, although may be pushed back for the shorter season.

However, there is something special that could happen on Dean’s birthday. We could actually get an episode to celebrate Dean’s birthday, which hasn’t happened in Supernatural. Considering Michael should be expelled from Dean’s body by this point, it would be a birthday well worth celebrating for all. Let’s hope the writers look at the date and plan for this.
