Has The Man in the High Castle been renewed for a fourth season?

Reports that Amazon has renewed The Man in the High Castle for a fourth season have surfaced, yet the third season has still to be released. So how is this possible?
It seems a bit strange but certainly not impossible. The Man in the High Castle has not aired a new episode on Amazon for almost 18 months since the end of the second season. Season 3 is still without a release date, although a tentative release date has possibly been confirmed, and yet the alternate history series has been reportedly renewed for a fourth season.
According to Spoiler TV, The Man in the High Castle has been renewed for a fourth season by Amazon. Referring to Production Weekly, the series is slotted to begin production in mid-September and is likely to finish around February 2019.

This does appear to be an odd decision with season 3 still to be aired but, like I said at the start, not an impossible one. Considering it is Amazon, and not a typical network, how they decide how well a show does is completely different. Rather than the typical viewer ratings they use a different set of data. So they may have already decided, based on the fandom alone, that The Man in the High Castle deserves a fourth season.
Regarding Amazon, everything is all hush at the moment. Nothing has been confirmed by the network, The Man in the High Castle themselves, or any of the production staff and cast.

Of course, the age-old rule is until the network or the show confirms the news, nothing is official. But, just because they haven’t confirmed it doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. They do need to get things prepared after all, so they may have greenlit the fourth season behind the scenes in order to get prepared.
