Freeform’s Siren: Are we going to learn more of the waters in season two?
By Ryan Mekkes
Will the ocean remain a mystery in season two of Siren? Or will we be introduced to more of the fearsome creatures that live in the waters surrounding Bristol Cove?
Siren season one was incredible, we all know that at this point. But that just means that season two has a chance to be all the more exhilarating. We were introduced to three mermaids, a merman, and a human with a mermaid in her lineage in season one. But will season two explore the waters a little bit more?
The eeriness of those underwater shots was one of the things that made Siren so stress-inducing (in the best way possible). There is something about those creatures that just gives you the creeps.

But beyond the suspense, there’s also so much room to create the underwater culture of the deep that may only be possible with a larger budget for CGI. Will they have that kind of budget in season two? They just might.
The show will always benefit from keeping the water somewhat a mystery to the viewer, as that mystery is one of the key elements that drives the overall feel of the show. But it surely wouldn’t hurt to develop the underwater world a little bit more in the future.
The season finale left a lot of things unraveled, which means we are probably in for a big shake-up in season two. So anything could happen; the show could take any form the writers want it to.

Will they take it to the depths? Will they focus on the love triangle they’ve created? Will they set up an all-out war between humans and mermaids? We’ll see soon enough, but rumor has it we will indeed see more about the mermaids in season two.
