Production on the It sequel has begun. The film will focus on the adult versions of the Losers Club. Who are you most excited to see?

It’s time to return to Derry, Maine, as production on the sequel to the 2017 smash hit, It, is officially underway. The It sequel, titled It – Chapter Two, will hit theaters on September 6, 2019.

Twenty-seven years after the events of 1989, Pennywise the Dancing Clown is back and scarier than ever has he looks to wreak havoc on the residents of Derry, Maine, one more time. The Losers Club, who have all moved away and grown up, must return to keep the promise they made to protect the town if Pennywise returned.

It – Chapter Two will focus on the adult versions of the Losers Club, but director Andy Muschietti has stated the the sequel will have flashbacks to childhood in order to intertwine both timelines. With the casting complete, who are you most excited to see play a member of the adult Losers Club?

Here are my top 3…

Bill Hader as Richie Tozier

The clear-cut member of the adult Losers Club that I am most excited to see is Bill Hader. Richie is the sarcastic and braggadocios member of the group who also happens to provide comedic relief in a horror movie. With Hader’s comedic experience from Saturday Night Live as well as the critically acclaimed Barry, Hader has the opportunity to steal the show.

James McAvoy as Bill Denbrough

The leader of the X-Men will now lead the Losers Club as James McAvoy will play Ben Denbrough. McAvoy has proven he can be the leader of an iconic group before so those skills should translate over to this film. McAvoy even has experience in the horror genre as he starred in M. Night Shymalan’s Split and will reprise his character in the sequel, Glass. McAvoy should thrive in this character.

Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh

The independent and strong Beverly Marsh will be played by Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain. Casting Chastain was a no-brainer because of her experience in action and horror films such as Zero Dark Thirty and Crimson Peak. The It sequel also marks a reunion between Mushietti and Chastain, who worked together on 2013 horror Mama.
