Knightfall Season 2: It looks like it is happening!

The History series surrounding the Knights Templar has yet to be confirmed or unconfirmed but it looks like Knightfall season 2 is happening.
No news is sometimes good news but it can become infuriating and Knightfall season 2 is just that at the moment. The climatic season finale aired back in February this year with news about season 2 expected to be made shortly after, but so far nothing has appeared.
The expectation has been that the series, focused on the Knights Templar, would not be returning due to poor ratings. Yet as time has gone on and no news from either the History Channel or Knightfall themselves, expectations have begun to swing in the other direction. The idea being that if it was to be cancelled; why wait?

As things stand there is still no official decision, but upon the announcement that the History series Six had been cancelled, an interesting little nugget was reported by Deadline.
In their report, they referenced Knightfall to be one of the networks flagship shows, along with Vikings. A smashing compliment for the series considering Vikings is now onto its fifth season, but the main nugget was the unconfirmed report of Knightfall season 2 getting geared up.

Now obviously this is still unconfirmed, and until an official source comes forward, nothing is set in stone for Knightfall season 2. But this is Deadline, if there is anyone who you want to believe rumors from, it is them. For anyone unaware of Deadline, they are on the same standard as Entertainment Weekly and the likes.
So it looks like Knightfall Season 2 will be coming; now we just need the official announcement to come out.
