Cowboy Bebop crew members will attend the 2018 New York Comic-Con
By Aedan Juvet
This year’s New York Comic-Con will include appearances by the Cowboy Bebop character designers as well as the writer to celebrate its massive 20th anniversary.
Cowboy Bebop has been off the air for 20 years now and still finds ways to maintain a highly respected relevancy. From the powerful characters, writing, art, music and just about everything possible, the series has been a massive hit to anime fans and has picked up new fans with each passing year.
With that being said, it came as no surprise that the series has been celebrated all year long, and the next stop includes a New York Comic-Con appearance from the people who aided the series creation. Those who will be attending the major convention includes character designer Toshihiro Kawamoto, series screenwriter Keiko Nobumoto, and the all-important mechanical designer Kimitoshi Yamane.

Each of the three played a major role in the success of the Cowboy Bebop, so what could make this any better? That would be winning a dinner with the three during the weekend of NYCC. Popular US-based anime distributors Funimation will be providing three lucky fans and a guest of their choice to participate in an exclusive dinner party with the series contributors – allowing those who purchase a new exclusive collector’s set to enter.
The dinner won’t require participants to have an actual NYCC badge, but if in the New York area and are eligible with your purchase, you can fill out this form for your chance to earn a prize that any Bebop fan would desperately hope to receive. The new edition will close off the pre-orders on July 13, the same deadline to enter your name to be selected for the dinner with all three special guests.
Next: Why Cowboy Bebop is still the best anime series after 20 years
At this year’s Anime Expo in Los Angeles, I and many others were lucky enough to experience a Funimation Bebop celebration with a jazz-themed Cowboy Bebop event to commemorate the anniversary. By now bringing three original crew members back, it seems like Funimation knows that it’s a series worth the adoration it receives two decades since it originally aired.
Is anyone else still desperately holding out hope for a Cowboy Bebop sequel series announcement soon?
