SDCC 2018 Friday panel schedule: What not to miss

San Diego Comic-Con released their panel schedule for Friday, July 20. You don’t need to be there to follow along. Here is a list of TV and film panels you should pay attention to!

San Diego Comic-Con ramps up the action for the second full day of the convention. There are numerous heavy-hitters scheduled throughout Friday’s programming schedule. AMC alone has three major series stopping by SDCC for Friday festivities. The action will also include a few series making their first appearances as well as major studios showcasing upcoming films.

As stated in our Wednesday/Thursday programming post, there are multiple ways to follow along from home. Searching for industry experts on Twitter or finding live-streams of panel details by using specific hashtags is highly recommended. Don’t forget to look for new trailers and footage released directly after panels end.

Friday, July 20

Fear the Walking Dead

  • Time: 11:15-12:15pm PST
  • Guests: Andrew Chambliss, Ian Goldberg (Showrunners); Scott M. Gimple, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Dave Alpert, Greg Nicotero (EPs); Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, Lennie James, Danay Garcia, Jenna Elfman, Maggie Grace, Garret Dillahunt

Cast and crew members of AMC’s FTWD will return to SDCC to discuss where season left off and what’s to come in the second half of season four. There will be a Q&A session as well as a new trailer presented for the rest of the season.

Vikings

  • Time: 11:30-12:30pm PST
  • Guests: Michael Hirst (Creator), Katheryn Winnick, Clive Standen, Alexander Ludwig, Alex Høgh Andersen, Georgia Hirst

The show’s cast will discuss season five and preview what’s to come ahead of the midseason premiere. Sneak peek footage will also be presented.

The Walking Dead

  • Time: 12:15-1:15pm PST
  • Guests: Angela Kang (Showrunner/EP); Scott M. Gimple, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Dave Alpert, Greg Nicotero (EPs); Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Some of the AMC-hit series cast members will join the crew to discuss the events of last season and also what’s ahead with a new chapter. There will also be first-look footage into season nine debuting this fall.

Castle Rock

  • Time: 12:45-2:00pm PST
  • Guests: Sam Shaw, Dustin Thomason (Creators/EPs); Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgard, Melanie Lynskey, Jane Levy

Lucky fans in attendance will be treated to a special screening of the upcoming Hulu series’ first episode. Following the showing, the cast and crew will discuss the series.

Star Trek: Discovery

  • Time: 1:30-2:30pm PST
  • Guests: Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin (EPs); Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Shazad Latif, Mary Wiseman, Anthony Rapp, Wilson Cruz, Mary Chieffo, Anson Mount

Cast and crew of the CBS All Access series will take over Hall H to discuss the events of the premiere season and what’s ahead for season two. The panel will be moderated by series guest star, Tig Notaro.

Amazon Prime Video Showcase

  • Time: 3:30-5:30pm PST
  • Guests: Carlton Cuse, Ben Edlund, Sam Esmail, Neil Gaiman, Gale Anne Hurd, Naren Shankar

Amazon Prime Video will put together a panel featuring creators of six original series. The series include Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Tick, Homecoming, Good Omens, Lore, and The Expanse.

Universal Pictures’ Glass and Halloween

  • Time: 3:45-4:45pm PST
  • Guests: M. Night Shyamalan, David Gordon Green, and surprise guests

Universal Pictures will present details on two of their highly-anticipated films, Glass and Halloween. On hand will be the films’ directors as well as cast members from each movie. There is also rumored to be a few surprises in store for the panel.

Bumblebee

  • Time: 5:00-6:00pm
  • Guests: Travis Knight (Director), Hailee Steinfeld

Paramount Pictures will be on hand to discuss the upcoming Transformers film, Bumblebee. The director, Travis Knight, and the film’s lead, Hailee Steinfeld will be joined by other cast members to discuss the prequel installment.

Cloak & Dagger

Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger

  • Time: 5:45-6:45pm PST
  • Guests: Joe Pokaski (Showrunner/EP), Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Emma Lahana, Ally Maki

The first season of the Freeform series is still underway but the cast is stopping by SDCC for a Q&A session. There will also be new footage revealed during the panel.

The Passage

  • Time: 6:00-7:00pm PST
  • Guests: Liz Heldens, Jason Ensler (EPs); Justin Cronin (Author); Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Saniyya Sidney, Henry Ian Cusick, Jamie McShane

Following a screening of the premiere for the upcoming Fox series, cast and crew will be on hand for a panel discussion and fan Q&A session.

Sony Pictures

  • Time: 6:15-7:15pm PST
  • Guests: TBA

Sony Pictures is planning to stop by Hall H to discuss two big movies, Venom and the animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Filmmakers and stars attached to the projects are expected to be on hand.

Preacher

  • Time: 7:30-8:30pm PST
  • Guests: Sam Catlin (Showrunner/EP); Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg (EPs); Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun

The cast and producers will be in attendance to discuss the current third season and preview what’s still to come.
